precinctomega Painting 8/10, Coolness 6/10 @ 2011-04-14 14:23:44
A very respectable paintjob, if a bit bland on the marine (I realize that this is intentional but it needs something to lift it out of the background, I feel). Main crit is that for all the attention to detail and meticulous assembly of this piece, I just can't make out any sense of narrative. What's he looking for? What's he seen? What *hasn't* he seen?
Lots of skill and effort that could have been so much better with just a smidgen of story to it. |

For me he is looking at the trail of blood and the spent shell casings. They lead up the path around the corner and perhaps it is his battle brother that is missing and he is searching for his brethren. I like the marine he is well weathered and looks like it has been a long campaign. For me it works and it does have a meticulous attention to detail. We often don't see evidence of the human cities turned to battle grounds shown here by the advertising boards. Great job! |

Blood Devil Painting 10/10, Coolness 10/10 @ 2011-05-17 21:20:42
I think the paint job is great and I love the narrative, after years in the bloody battle grounds the threat lurks just around the corner, and its got your battle brother. |
