I'm trying something new as inspired by another DakkaDakka user; painting on some art on the tail of a DakkaJet. So here's the first step: Conceptual Design. I started with an image of actual aircraft nose art that I wanted to emulate. I chose "Dangerous Donna" by Chuck Bauman since it would fit with the shape of the DakkaJet's vertical stabilizer. Since I knew that tracing would be out. It was off to the drawing boards... literally. I traced the exact shape of the vertical stabilizer, even making it just a little bit smaller to ensure a fit. Then it was a lot of trial and error to get the sketch just right. |
