I use real standard, simple techniques since I have to paint a lot of these wretches. The red is just two coats of Mechrite Red followed by edge highlights with Blood Red and a fat wash of Baal Red. Presto!
The boots are also washed with Baal Red, as that gives them that "Marron Rouge" tint that I prefer on my own shoes!
