Image Description: Progression from image WIP Basilisk 2, the crew and tank have now been basecoated and received their first washcoat. Amazing how a lick of paint can compensate a pretty amateurish Greenstuff job. After 4 years it's only the top-coat and detailing to go.... GW Nuln Oil was used for the crew, while a dark brown slurry of water-thinned GW paints (maybe 75% Chaos Black and 25% Mournfang Brown?) was used on the tank. For vehicles I find this gives a much better underfinish than a proprietary ink, as the tendency of the slurry to unevenly pool and dry while begin driven by gravity seems to present a fairer simluation of weathering. Etiher way, any mistakes (I'm sure you'll spot a few) are easily corrected in the topcoat... Oh, and Mechanicum Standard grey in a spray can is fantastic for quickly undercoating grey tanks!
