In order to trigger various critical effects, a model must score a critical hit.
Conditions
The targeting model must:
- Hit the targeted model's DEF (or target result of Defense-MAT/RAT)
- Roll matching numbers.
- NOT roll all1s (Critical failure)
Various effects in the game can either boost or add additional dice to the attack roll.

Notes
- There is always a chance to critically hit (rolling double 6s)
- Under the best conditions, boosting to hit only yields about a 30% chance to also trigger a critical effect.
- Boosting can increase the chance of missing due to critical failure (rolling all 1s) if the target result is high enough (starting at 17 or 18). Better to roll 2 dice and hope for the 2.78% odds.
