Eldar Farseer Jetbike WIP w/ bonus Warlock!

With all the talk of awesome new Jetbike Councils, I realized that I have a pile of jetbikes and a pile of old warlocks and Farseers. I've been stockpiling old school eldar for some time now, and buying lots brings in lots of Psykers. I built my BikeSeer with the old "Squid head" farseer, which has two big advantages:
1) He's sort of pointing, as if he's casting, rather than awkwardly wielding some giant weapon.
2) the folds of his cloak and his left arm are very easily excised (well, simply, it took about 20 minutes of dremel and razor saw to cut him up)

Here are some photos of WIP. All comments, positive and negative are welcome. In particular I'm looking for some advice on adding more realisitic green stuff robes.

This shot shows the driving arm joint, which might need more putty work. Will that paint up better, or should I try to add some decoration?

This shows the left side robe. It's pretty flat, which I don't think is a bad thing, but I have no clue how it will look painted.

Ditto the above comment, only about the right side. I'd worry about it looking silly to have robes on a jetbike, but he's wearing a heavy sleeve that's just laying there, so accuracy isn't exactly my main goal.

I had some extra green stuff, so I took a crack at a basic warlock conversion. Rather than try to hack up a whole warlock body (too much work) or simply give a jetbike rider a witchblade (I don't like the pointy helm), I chopped off the head from a warlock, and pinned it to the body. I used "Warlock with witchblade #3" in the lower right of this page: http://www.solegends.com/citcat94/cat1994123-03.htm if you are curious. I added a real basic green stuff vest. My goal is sculpt some very simple rune armor, basically a few ridges that can be highlighted bone, on the torso while adding some simple cloth around it. For a weapon, I'll simply use an old plastic arm and power weapon painted bone for a witchblade.

A close up of the head and torso:

A profile shot of the rear left:

thanks for the note! I was just thinking that I should add some robe on the driving arm. Does anybody have any advice on layering green stuff robes?

And the whole army is old school, RT and 2nd edition stuff. The Harlequins are dirt cheap now on ebay!

It doesn't look like its connected to his torso at all. It looks like his arm is growing down from his shoulder pad. Maybe it is just me...

By the way, I absolutely love the Greedo Farseer. Always have.

Ghidorah

I am not sure if you have seen this or not, but some people use the Wings from the BFG Eldar fleets as the side wings of the Farseer Jet Bikes. It makes them look more "farseerish"

It is a pretty easy and cheap conversion that you may want to try...

So far good job.

Mark
