I'm trying to decide is arjac is a worthwhile upgrade for the list. It's a Drop Pod list, with Logan, Njal, 4 terminator squads (with ablative WG wounds) and 2 grey hunter squads, as well as a dreadnaught, with a points total of 2250 ish. I think Arjac would be a fun addition to an anti-MC squad.
Mostly what I want to know is, at 170 points is he worth it?

However, he's not a small investment and if you include him you need to make sure you still have plenty of depth in the rest of your list.

This got me thinking is he worth it?

Arjac actually costs the cost of the basic wolfguard + his upgrade cost so costs 2 points less then Vulkan.

I dunno but spending this kind of points on a character that isn't a force multiplier like Vulkan or Pedro makes me doubt Arjac's worthiness. But my opponent Sam did well with Arjac so he is worth trying.

In addition to Arjac you need to buy him a squad and a Land Raider which makes him quite expensive.

Coming from MSU Guard this doesn't sound worth it to me. Might as well play regular marines and take Vulkan and a unit of THSS Assault termies in a Land raider.

Arjac is a nightmare if you can get him to CC with ICs, MCs, or walkers. The armor/invul saves make him very durable and he cannot be instant killed. Re-rolls to hit on certain units, and always hitting on 3+ on units with a WS will be hard to miss. Str10 attacks can instant kill most ICs and wound just about everything. He does not have the IC special rule, meaning he cannot be targeted in CC and has his 2 wounds, plus the other meat shields he is with until he dies.

In my opinion he is worth it, but if you are inclined on taking both Logan and Njal, then he would probably be too costly to keep your list competitive. He works best in a Land Raider, of course, but I haven't had that much of a hard time putting him in a drop pod with other termies. Foot slogging wasn't entirely too bad either. Space Wolf 13 Model 1500 Point List

Here is a list I came up with for a 1500 point game. Like some others I just want to see what a low model count Space Wolf Army would do. For another 500 points I can add 2 Land Raiders.

I dont play space wolves so I might be missing something but doesnt your army list have 3 HQs?

I used him in an LR. My opponent in Vegas used him in a pod, with a wolf priest along for more re-rolls. I think the only problem with this list is amateur opponents.

I just tried running a Logan Grimnar list with mostly terminators for my troops, and it went down HARD. And that was against Eldar! Just wait untill you play some Guard armies.


But I am a big fan of Arjac, especially if you run him with a full squad of grey hunters with a wolf standard. That means if Arjac has a 2+ armor save you get to re-roll all failed armor saves! Not to shabby.
I think he's worth 170 points. But I wouldn't run him in any list smaller that 1,500. Even at 1,500 he's difficult to fit in.

SW player pretty hard (I was playing GK). He was good player, btw, I just kinda caught him out a bit, surprised him with the range I choose to fight at.


I agree with everyone else, though, you need to take care of your fundamentals (like Long fangs) before you start messing around with wiz-bang toys like Arjac. For 'Ard Boyz you should have plenty of points for it, though.

Yes Two, but alot of times.
Some of us are not lucky enough to have lots of opponets. I would like to have lots more Opponents.
