I may be spending some time in London and have considered going up to Nottingham for at least part of a day. Is Warhammer World worth a visit? If so, how much time should I allocate and what should I see there?

It's free but there isn't a days worth of stuff to see/worth the 2hr(+?) drive/expensive train journey there.

I drove back to the hotel to change and got lost for an hour walking then got a taxi to find it. It was fantastic! One of my best days out ever!

Played on the Fortress of Redemption table with my Orks. Had a blast. And the Bugmans Bar was excellent. The miniatures gallery upstairs is worth the visit alone!

not worth travelling from London just for it.. but if you go as a day trip to look round nottingham, you can easily kill 3 hours there.

You can park in warhammer world all day.. and its a nice 20 minute walk along the canal into the center of nottingham..

UK the Food is great hahahaha I wish we had gaming establishments like that in the states. I guess I picked a good day to visit. I played a couple games of WHFB always interesting when playing in a different country. I enjoyed myself , but as far as the "museum " aspect I don't see that lasting you more then a hour or so. It was neat seeing the actual figs you've seen photographed up close but other than that it was just 'ok.'

This is not a h8 post. I really wanted to go and I did, sort of like a pilgrimage. It was a nice one off trip but in retrospect I could have maybe better spent that time

Thanks guys! After all that, I've decided not to take the time to travel from London to Nottingham. I guess I'll just sneak a peek at a GW store or FLGS in the big city. Any recommendations?

The biggest GW store is probably Oxford Street, but its not that big. But there is the Orcs Nest (decent rpg store) and Forbidden Planet (awesome if you like Comics/Scifi/books/collectables etc) nearby.

Or there is the Hammersmith GW which was their first one,

Enjoyed it immensely the two times I have been there on 40K doubles weekends, and it was packed.
