				<title>Chaos Sorcerer: Force Staff + Power Sword?</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ I'm pricing out a possible Slaanesh army for an upcoming escalation league, and at my higher army sizes I'm adding a sorcerer in Terminator armor. I'm considering his weapon loadout, and since he's going to be ML3, I think actually having a ranged weapon is sort of redundant, so I'm thinking of giving him the following:<br /> <br /> Force Weapon (Staff), Power Weapon (Sword). My thinking is as follows: most of the enemies that he is likely to step up against that have more than one wound are likely to have an invulnerable save <i>anyways</i>, so the AP3 on a Force Weapon is largely pointless. Instead, by taking two (non-unwieldly) melee weapons I increase the number of attacks he gets and can either increase the chance to cause a wound (with the +2S from the staff) or take advantage of the AP3 of the standard power sword against one-wound models in 3+ armor.<br /> <br /> Are there any major flaws that I'm missing with this idea? I understand that he'll have a problem dealing with other <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(652);'>TEQ</span>'s, but there will be other parts of the army in place to cover that (plasma, some power axes).<br /> <br /> Thanks, all.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Seems like a decent idea, although his Force Weapon will be the poorer <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>AP</span> value. And normally you want to cause at least one unsaved wound. I'd make the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(39);'>FW</span> the Sword and give him a Staff as the Power Weapon.]]></description>

I would also stay unmarked and just roll biomancy 3 times.]]></description>

Mk figured that was the case when i was playing with the character and I asked "do you have any ap1 or 2 weaponry in this list and he initally said no other than obliterators and then it changed once my mega-armored warboss charged him and declared a challenge and he said "oh i have a power ax" and i raised a brow looking at the model and immediately said "... pretty sure since you don't have a list I am going to have to hold you to your initial answer of no as well as since it isn't modeled with an ax that just seems... a little situational to me."]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Well duh, its in the rules that the model must actually have the weapon in question modelled. So if you say he has a Force Axe he better have a Axe, or one of the multiple weapons that falls into the Axe catagory(Halberd, Polearm, etc...)<br /> <br /> The same with Mauls and Lances and Swords.<br /> <br /> And the weapon choice should be noted in the army list as well to prevent swapping models or equipment during the game.]]></description>

He is the type to make in game changes which i think he did cause he had no idea he would be fighting my mega-boss before the store paired us up in the first place. And normally I am a nice guy and don't require it to be modeled but this was a clear advantage being made in the spur of the moment, if approached with the request to say "I know you see a Staff but it's really an force ax" when we were starting that would have been all i needed since I asked ahead of time the very question.<br /> <br /> We are at low points 450 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(258);'>atm</span>, so I run a jerky list of a looted wagon, 1 mega warboss, and a bunch of foot nobz with the warboss upfront since he can absorb all the gunfire with his 2+ armor and throw a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(85);'>LOS</span> sir at strength10 if need be.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ all the unit options I can think of right now that have access to a power sword,  also have access to a lightning claw for the same cost. I'm not sure why anyone would take the sword over the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span>, but i see alot of people talking about taking swords... Obviously there is no force <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span>, but I like the force axe/ <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> combo for utility.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ The reason I was thinking "Sword" over "Lightning Claw" is because a claw is a Specialist Weapon, and doesn't grant the +1 attack. My goal with this sort of build is to maximize the number of attacks while also creating flexibility depending on what sort of enemy the guy is facing. I can't simply give him a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(20);'>CCW</span> because he's in Terminator Armor. <br /> <br /> I also plan to keep him marked because 1: it's a Slaanesh army, 2: I want him able to get Symphony to support the Noise Marines in the army and 3: the +1 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(74);'>Init</span> should keep any Space Marine Sgts from getting any lucky simultaneous kills, amongst other problems. The exact points costs are not critical, as I've got room in the list to play around with right now.<br /> <br /> Also... please assume that, yes, I will be following the rules for modeling it correctly. Nothing personal just saying that if I ask if anything in your army cuts 2+ armor and you say "just my obliterators" i start getting pissy when you say your sorcerer who just accepted my challenge is modeled with a staff and you say force ax and again no army list to confirm this since your list must be made before we are even set up as enemies.... yeah i call cheating at that point <img src="/s/i/a/39ea8e0dbfb45dcc6b802cd0e198dba3.gif" border="0"><br /> <br /> otherwise you sound perfectly fine... just don't follow the example above and don't lie or change as we play is my only requirements]]></description>
