				<title>Does Tellion+Icarus work?</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ sooooo I've had this idea of slapping tellion on an Icarus gun, and using that to snipe targets out of squads with s 9 ap2 goodness... Now... that entire kit costs yah about 120 points(?), assuming that you were going to throw camo cloaks on your scouts anyway. <br /> <br /> <br /> My question is this, and I'm preeetttyy sure I already know the answer - no -, but here goes: Are there enough juicy targets out there in the wonderful world of meta to make the point investment worth it? And what would some of said targets be? ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ It's a neat idea, especially if you're just using the scouts as objective holders. You are basically getting a scoring Vindicare. <br /> <br /> I like the idea of being able to take out special weapons troopers, but that's going to be the only reliable kill. Although the icarus will do some damage to fliers too so it's really a multi-purpose unit with Telion.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ In short, yes.<br /> <br /> Longer, tellion's BS5 means you will hit most times and the lascannon will get you a more likley penetrating hit since flyers are AV12 max.<br /> <br /> It's helpful as well because camo-cloaked scouts with sniper rifles behind a defense line gives them a 2+ cover save and are ridiculously hard to dislodge.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ It would still work out to be a nasty combo since the quad gun still has a 3+ armor and probably a 4+ cover save.  If they're firing high powered weapons at the gun then that's kind of a win in my book, even without the gun Telion is still reasonably dangerous so if he loses the gun it's not that big a deal.]]></description>

Running <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span>, elite slots aren't critical.  200 points of ratlings will drop that T7 3+ armor 4 cover gun in a phase.<br /> I'd rather have the bastion, at least you get a great field of fire from it.<br /> <br /> -Matt]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ It's nifty... but a lot of points too. <br /> <br /> The pros: <br /> <br /> sniping whatever you want, with camo you have a 2+ cover save behind the aegis line. So they wont be dying. <br /> <br /> The cons: <br /> <br /> it's what, 147 for telion (1 wound) and 4 more scouts with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(328);'>ML</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(51);'>HB</span>? Not much protection for him, ideally you'd want at least 8 total, which puts you close to 200 points. That's a LOT for essentially 1 precise las shot, a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(51);'>HB</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(328);'>ML</span>, and some (albiet tough) scoring. Because here's the thing, the problem with scouts is that sure telion will be good at sniping things, but the rest of the scouts cant hit the broadside of a barn. BS3 + wound on a 4 means ur averaging wounds a turn with everything else, which is... not ideal. <br /> <br /> Furthermore 1 las-shot is decent against armour but in the end unless you roll very well it still ususally takes 2-3 shots to take down the tank. And they fold in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span>, dont handle deepstrikers well, and its 200 points! That's a 10 man tactical squad and nearly a transport for them, or a mortis contemptor who has.. .12 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>BS</span> 5 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(5);'>AC</span> shots and 2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(417);'>CML</span> missile shots for about cost. And can still man the icarus at <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>bs</span> 5 as well. You lose precision, but gain oh so much in firepower. So in the end, it's nifty but just too expensive for me.  ]]></description>

TIME FOR MATHHAMMER<br /> <br /> s9 at bs6 vs <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(9);'>AV</span> 12 (tellion is six isn't he?) = 5/6(actually 31/36, but feth that, rounding down) * 1/2 = 5/12 to pen armor 12, + 1/12 to glance so a 50% chance to take off a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(661);'>hp</span><br /> <br /> s7 at bs6 vs <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(9);'>av</span> 12 = (more than 35/36 to hit, so just saying a guaranteed hit) *1/6 = 1/6 to pen, and 1/6 to glance, so 1/3 to take off a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(661);'>hp</span>... times four, so on average you're taking off 1& 1/3 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(661);'>hps</span> off. <br /> <br /> so yeah... much better against flyers (cause there aren't any with armor higher than 12 in the game right?)<br /> <br /> <br /> but the idea for this guy would be taking out infantry models, because of the problems that Largo correctly pointed out in regards to shooting at tanks. ]]></description>
