Battle damaging medow bases (picture heavy)

Well, I tried to take my original basing idea and make it a bit more battle ridden.

I am going for subtlety, the looks that it is an old battle field trying to grow back or a field that has yet to be ravaged from the torment of war.

I used a mini blow torch (the kind for culinary arts) to scorch some static grass areas and burned some edges of the cork to give a look of battle ridden rock.

I also used some old brass pieces from GW that were in an old basing kit I never used (shown below). I cut them out, bent them, based them, scorched them, and then put some pigment on them.

Here are the rough steps I took. Ask any questions if anyone has them.

As as before, please let me know if you can think of anything I could do to make them better.

Thank you guys,
Waffles

Soo many images...

These bases were to do exactly that: blend in. I was trying to go with real subtlety and have them look like the 'earth' has taken the metal back kind of thing. I can try doing more of a rust thing with the light moisture basing idea, since they match up together as a cause and affect.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Any others?

Waffles

Automatically Appended Next Post:

Chi3f wrote:

oadie wrote:

jazzpaintball wrote:

Maddok_Death wrote:
I think it need to be wet looking. ...
