				<title>Proposed Vehicle Overwatch</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ I'm simply proposing that certain weapons on vehicles should be allowed to overwatch fire into a unit assaulting it.  These weapons would be designated as "Defensive." Weapons like:<br /> <br /> Pintle-mounted Storm Bolters, Heavy Stubbers, Shuriken Catapults and Cannons, Big Shootas, etc.<br /> <br /> So the entry would read:<br /> <br /> Gun, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>Str</span> 4, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>AP</span> 6, Heavy 3, Pintle-mounted, Defensive<br /> <br /> No points would need to be addedto the already considerable cost for this additions anyway.  I don't think it is <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(280);'>OP</span> in any way.  And it stands to reason that the crew of a veicle engaging charging infantry in the open with the small arms mounts... sounds cinematic to me.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I like the idea.<br /> <br /> For example, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(299);'>FoW</span> allows vehicle <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(563);'>MGs</span> to be fired in defensive fire vs. attacking infantry.  I don't have my rulebook on hand, but I believe that the vehicle takes a -1 to it's armour stat to represent exposed crew/open hatches if the player elects to use pintle mounted <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(563);'>MGs</span>.<br /> <br /> It would make assaulting vehicles a bit more interesting than closing hatches, turning off engine and sitting there awaiting powerfists <img src="/s/i/a/6d3c0a908a3861135dfaebde91c0ecf6.gif" border="0">]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I could definitely see it for pintle-mounted weapons... except for the pintle-mounted <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span> on the  <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span> Crusader variant.  Pintle-mounteds, bolt-ons, and I'd like to see the other races benefit from the rule as well.<br /> <br /> I think the inherent benefit of having a defensive pintle-mounted weapon is the 360' arc of fire versus, say, the shuriken catapults on the Eldar falcon, for example.<br /> <br /> Thanks for the reply, Necrosis!]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Then dont charge the front.... Sponsons only have a 180 degree field of view. Charging the side would mean 1-3 heavy flamers. Also, they are paying for the sponsons and are not gaining any <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(482);'>AT</span> resistance from shooting.  They are serving exactly the purpose they are meant to in fluff. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I think the rules should mostly stay the same for overwatch and vehicles (i.e Walkers only) but for open topped transports I think it would make sense if a unit embarked can fire their weapons in overwatch, since you can fire in the shooting phase from any point it seems unrealistic that they wouldn't do this when getting charged. But game-play wise I would restrict it to one model gets to fire their weapon in overwatch, as it would make a transport full of flamers almost nonchargeable because of wall of death.]]></description>
