I've been looking to see if it is specified anywhere that you have to place a quad-gun/icarus lascannon from the ADL within a certain distance of the defense line. so far, I haven't seen anything that would prohibit me from doing something like surrounding the base of the landing pad with the defense line and putting the gun up on the landing pad for better LoS and the invuln save. "Fortifications must be set up wholly within the owning player's table half and not within 3" of another fortification." (120)

the ADL and Gun emplacement are not two different fortifications. Dude I was talking about the skyshield and ADL, not the gun that comes with the ADL.
