Lysander or Vulkan?

Which one would accompany my army better? I was thinking of running lysander with a squad of 5 sternguard in a drop pod.

Lysander would allow them to reroll all of thier rapid fire special ammunition, vulkan would allow rerolls for the entire armies flamers, heavy flamers, meltas, multi meltas and thunder hammers.

Currently my army has very few flame weapons and only 2 multimeltas plus the 5 combis for the sternguard.
The rest of my dakka is invested in lascannons, auto cannons, assault cannons, ml, ect.

I do have a unit of 8 th/ss termies.

Vulkan is 10pts cheaper, has one less wound.
Lysander is an eternal warrior. Has bolster defences. (Would help my scouts out)

(I am fairly new at the game).
I know what it does, but I am timid to try it. I feel like I have a hard enough time destroying things and surviving attacks with a 10 man tac.
As things are now after the changes of 6th edition, there is practically no reason not to combat squad a 10 man tac squad, except from when you are playing the kill points mission.
In 5th, only a unit could fit in a transport, but now you can rhino-around both squads at the same time and gain greater versatility.
Practically, vanilla marines never want to be in CC (except TH&SS termies of course ).
So the best bet if you can not avoid an assault from ugly things, is to feed them 5 marines which will either die and you will be free to shoot the ugly things your turn, or use combat tactics to achieve the same result.

Though, never forget the most important rule of the vanilla codex:
Go with what you like and make the best of it.
Yeah, that is cool now! The general idea is the Sarge and the Special Weapon go with one half to make an "attack-team" and the Heavy Weapon stays with the other half to make a "support-team"... as far as the original question, Vulkan is by far the better overall choice...
