I did make a small mistake. You'll need 2 trays for the Vendettas, and a third for the additional Russ and Manticore. I didn't realize how bloody big Valkyries are. That means you'll likely end up with a Pack 1520XL and a Pack Plus on top.

Still fits the majority of my army and I actually have the wings as removable from one of my vendettas and am trying to pry the other ones off that way I could probably fit 2 in one tray. Also like I said Im not so much worried about the shadow sword either because as big as it is and as I mostlikely never will be using it I will have it as a display on my shelf once painted.

I wouldn't buy it to transport what you need. The trays all look like 1" pluck foam, which isn't going to work for your Barge, Stalker or Arks.

I wouldn't worry about overkill on size - it gives you room to expand, either your Necrons or store another army in it. But consisting of all 1" pluck foam is really going to be irritating if you want to transport something bigger than an infantry model. The Stalker alone will take up 5 of those trays, glued together.

With the armies you're storing, it doesn't. Battlefoam shines with multiple large vehicles/large monsters (since the larger tray in case system works better for them than KR's more limited size cardboard box in case system) and armies with fragile pointy bits (because they get caught in soft foam like KR's).

When it's something like Tyranids, which are both fragile and pointy with multiple large, unusually shaped monsters, Battlefoam shines. When it's all normal shaped infantry or something like box shaped Space marine vehicles, KR is fine.

I had a quick look at what you'd need from Battlefoam, and it amounts to:

A Pack 720 (12" foam storage).
A Necron troop tray (48 Warrior sized models, 12 Immotal sized models and 9 chunky models, though you can fit 69 Warrior sized easily).
A Scarab tray (admittedly this holds 45 scarabs, but you'll need a tray for them)
A custom tray. I did some playing around with the editor and easily fit a Stalker, 2 Arks and a Barge on one tray. This came to 9.5" of foam, so still reoom for another infantry tray.

If you're interested in Battlefoam but not the insane shipping they charge, you can always shoot these guys an email. They stock Battlefoam, and charge slightly more than US pricing (due to themselves paying shipping). They ship Australia wide. The only thing you'd probably have to order yourself is the custom tray.

By the way, I was just asking if 6.5" was thick enough to accommodate everything, but I'm assuming that it is seeing as the pre cut trays are for the stalkers/arks/barges are all 6" and under.

Seriously, plenty of companies are run by douchebags. I wouldn't have an iPhone or Windows on my PC or a Tyranid army if I based my purchases on the parent companies and those that run them. The product is what you buy, not the company, you have absolutely no interaction with the parent company outside of support if needed.

Also, on the trays I've gotten that had variable depths, I ordered 2 at 1.5" for my Hormagautns and 2 at 1" for my Termagants, then immediately regretted only getting 1" trays for them. When they turned up, it's like BF read my mind, they shipped me 1.5" Termagant trays.
