				<description><![CDATA[ Hey guys, I'm just getting back into <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> after a long hiatus and I've decided to trade in my dark angels for my friend's chaos, but I'm not sure which load-out I want for my custom chaos lord, I know I want two weapons and possibly mounted on a berzerker. any suggestions? I'm probably going to go with two powerswords or a powersword and power lance.<br /> <br /> Discuss, Debate, etc.<br /> <br /> -Cypher's Sword]]></description>

That said, you would benefit the most from picking weapons for different purposes. The common pick is Lightning Claw + Power Fist. The first one is AP3 and good for cutting Marine type opponents, and the second is AP2 and good vs Vehicles, but suffer from striking at Initiative 1. <br /> When you say "Mount on a Berzerker", I assume you mean a Juggernaut? If not.. nasty <img src="/s/i/a/ef7b97610a8bf5b2bd5df8209dc08ff3.gif" border="0"> If you make him a Khorne Lord, I strongly recommend the Axe of Blind Fury.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Mounting the Lord  on a Juggernaut  is amazing.  It  makes you T5, meaning you don't  need to fear Instant Death from S8-9, and the extra wound make you that  much more durable.<br /> <br /> If you are going this route, getting a unit  of bikers/spawn to go with your Lord  is  usually a  good call.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Chaos Lord piggy-backing on a Khorne Berserker waving his sword around screaming "Faster! Faster!" I believe you meant Juggernaut.<br /> <br /> Alright, so if you take a single power weapon and keep your basic <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(20);'>CCW</span>, you get to swing at AP3 and gain an additional attack for dual wielding. If you take two power you weapons, you spend 15 more points to... swing at AP3 and gain an additional attack for dual wielding. <br /> <br /> Paying 15 points for a Power Lance on top of a Power Weapon is effectively paying 15 points for Furious Charge, which is interesting. However, Mark of Khorne gives Rage (and Counter-Attack) for 10 points, which maths out to being more effective.<br /> <br /> Of course, you can model him with two swords and a holstered pistol even if he only actually has a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(486);'>PW</span> and Bolt Pistol. Tactically, you'd be better off taking advantage of the more unique equipment, like the Murder Sword, or Black Mace, or Dual Lightning Claws.<br /> <br /> EDIT: Man I'm a slow poke.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Never give your lord two lightning claws. With the way the specialist weapons are worded, you give him a lightning claw and a power fist. Since they're both specialists weapons you gain the additional close combat weapon. 				<description><![CDATA[ I run my Chaos Lord with the following load out.<br /> Power Fist    S8 AP2 <br /> Sigil of Corruption and the Mark of Tzeentch to give him a +3 invulnerable  save. <br /> Veteran of the Long War for the rerolls.<br /> Plus a Plasma Pistol for some type of ranged attacks.<br /> I found that when I had 2 weapons I only used the fist because it gave me a real KILLING attack. S8 is instant kill on most enemies.<br /> The +3 Invul lets you survive most attacks so the Int 1 isn't a big problem.<br /> <br /> I run him with a 6 man Chosen Squad with 5 Meltas. They all ride in a Rhino with a Dirge caster.<br /> They roll up to a target pile out and shoot then charge the next turn.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Nurgle Lord on a bike with Blight Grenades, Sigil of Corruption, and Burning Brand in a unit of Nurgle Bikers is very mean. For a truly killy Lord and to keep with your desire for a Juggernaut mount: give him Mark of Khorne, Juggernaut, Sigil and Axe of Blind Fury. The Axe just mows through everything. ]]></description>

That is 15 points that arent giving you 1 attack.  Take a combi plasma.  You get 2 plasma shots at that range and it costs so much less.  ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I run my liars as, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(100);'>MoN</span> bike <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>PF</span> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> and sigil in a unit of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(100);'>MoN</span> spawn.  It's a really good unit for the relatively low cost of the points.  If you get the poison attacks on the spawn against <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(95);'>meq</span> you get a reroll 2+ to wound, if you manage to role 5+ on attacks the unit is rediculous.]]></description>

You only get to attack with one weapon, so the pistol is only used in shooting.   Yes rapid firing is only useable if you are not going to assault.  If you are going to assualt, the last thing you want to do is fire a plasma pistol that might kill an enemy that is close to your assault unit.  If you kill too many then your charge will fail and you will get shot up next turn.  ]]></description>

If we're talking Chaos Lords here, I usually go for Terminator Armour, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(99);'>MoK</span>, Power Fist and Lightning Claw, with Sigil of Corruption ;D I usually run this guy in an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span> with some more Termys sporting Chainfists and/or Power Fists <img src="/s/i/a/c944477abc92c1c101da485e07ff06d8.gif" border="0">]]></description>

I prefer this because he is still plenty killy with 5 base attacks that are either S8 ap2 or S4 AP3 shred which is really decent.  He is still really fast and T6 is so tough.  I then love to run him with some <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(100);'>MoN</span> spawn for a really fast lots of wounds high toughness unit that can drown you in attacks with a bit of luck.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Chaos Lords are very flexible in what they can be equipped with, but some selections are generally more effective than others.<br /> <br /> A Khorne Lord on a Juggernaut, if that's what you're looking at, is one of the better options available, especially (read:mandatory) if he takes the Axe of Blind Fury. For not many more points than PFist, you're getting a stupid number of AP2 attacks at initiative, and with the Juggernaut's buffs, you're quite survivable too.<br /> <br /> Listen, 7 to 13 S6 AP2 attacks at I5 from one charging model (3 base, +1 Bolt Pistol/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span>, +1 Juggernaut, +2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(99);'>MoK</span>, +2-6 Daemon Weapon) will kill things dead, and T5 W4 means that he's also not dying to enemy powerfists. If you're already mounting him on a juggernaut, you have no reason not to equip him with the Axe of Blind Fury.<br /> <br /> If you're not mounting him up, Tzeentch (if you don't want to unlock anything) with Sigil of Corruption + Terminator Armor + Power Fist&Lightning Claw gives you that 2+/3++ and a variety of combat options. Nurgle, Terminator Armor, Sigil, Fist/Claw gives you 2+/4++ and T5, so going against enemy terminators isn't a total fail. Nurgle on a Bike, with the Burning Brand gives you T6, mobility, and a good ranged weapon, very rare on <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> choices. Slaanesh on a Bike or Steed works, and the Brand is a good option here too.<br /> <br /> A lot depends on what you want your lord doing/which unit you want your lord with, and which, if any, cult troop you want unlocked. The Juggernaut Lord is extra killy, but unlocks Berserkers, which are the second worst Cult Troop, only better than Thousand Sons. Nurgle and Slaanesh Lord loadouts really depend on what unit you want accompanying them.]]></description>
