<![CDATA[Latest posts for the thread "Grey Knights + Necrons Lore"]]> http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/69.page JForum - http://www.jforum.net Grey Knights + Necrons Lore At the moment I am currently working on a conversion on what I call "The Mechanicum Crusaders" where the grey knights are space marines with robotic implants and the necrons are simply Mechanicum built "robots" (I know right). I am still in the lore developement process attempting to explain different aspects such as psychic power = Mechanicum science or that Coteaz isnt Coteaz etc...
Anyway what would be your reasons why would Grey Knights be "allying" with one such as the Necrons?, or what are your own thought on conversions? or any other suggestions on my attempt to make this love hate allies viable?

The GK would probably just shoot the crons on sight though. Not sure if its been retconned, but in the previous GK codex (or Daemonhunters, as the book was previously called), they considered C'tan to be a type of demon, and necrons were just a form of demonic construct.

Grey Knights and Necrons working together is entirely different because Grey Knights, unlike the Blood Angels are not bound by the Imperiums laws. They are above the law, and can basically do as they please. If Blood Angels work with Necrons and the Inquisition finds out, there is going to be hell to pay, but no one would dare question the Grey Knights for doing the same thing.

Also, as stated above, regular Space Marines are huge xenophobes. Most of them I think would rather die than work with the Necrons. While the Grey Knights reserve that kind of hatred purely for Chaos. I totally not agree with this. Friends, do not forget that imperium is vastly vast. There are a huge number of inquisitors who differ on the idea of serving imperium .

It is not uncommon for inquisitor to hire xenos services or ally themselves with them. Some inquisitors have been even allowed in to the Black Library of Eldar.

And we are talking about necrons, warp is anathema to them. They can see the grey knights real objective. If a necron lord sees that they can fight a common enemy an temporary alliance might form.

also i can see the Grey Knights working with the Necrons because not all Necron factions will just attack or try to rule a planet right away. Nemesor trys to get the planet to surrender peacefully or cooperate to his needs at times. Since then, the Necron background material has both grown and shifted to what we have today. Personally, I still see them as sci-fi skeletons, wraiths, and mummies. However, I'm not above using their current Dex for 'counts as' AdMech.

Allow me to introduce you to a concept commonly referred to in the Inquisition as "Radicalism"...

Even Ravenor, in the Eisenhorn novels, is hanging around with an Eldar Seer Council.


The GK is also the Chamber Militant of the Ordo Malleus of the Inquisition. They will do exactly what the Inquisition tells them to do, and they *will* like it.
