Which got me to wonder more... would Iron Warriors have Possessed Marines, Warp Talons or any other daemon-based troops in their ranks? Afterall, they have a lot of Obliterators who are daemonic too. But the fluff states that Iron Warriors often amputate and replace mutated flesh with bionics.

Some versions of the Iron warriors have them shunning mutation while others have them as willingly summoning daemons to bind to their daemon engines.

I think if you want to use Possessed Marines or Warp Talons, perhaps convert them to be full of bionics. That's how I see it. I don't see them using possessed but obviously a player can have "counts as" possessed made up of cyborg looking units. Pumped up marines with vials and tubes sticking out of them.
When I first saw the forge fiend/mauler I thought Iron Warriors, this is so them.

Also I think it has to be noted that even though the Iron warriors are often seen using mostly big guns they would need close assault troops too. If they ever intended to break a siege or counter enemies in their own lines close assault specialists would be needed. As has been mentioned Storm of Iron goes into how they are shackled before being used for battle.

Not sure about a Heldrake though, how would you be able to put it back in its cage so to speak. I am considering adding a daemon engine or two and a squad of warp talons to it (over and above the obligatory obliterators naturally).

Ah sorry if i came across as "they would never do this!" I just think the general theme of IW is that they are too self important for possession in how we normally think of if.
