				<title>Looking to get to strong 1850 Orks</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Hello all, so I recently started building Orks and actually ran a game with them today. <br /> <br /> So far I have:<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>: <br /> Big Mek<br /> War Boss<br /> <br /> Troops:<br /> 30 Boyz<br /> <br /> Elite: <br /> 15 Lootas<br /> 10 Nobz<br /> Pain Boy<br /> <br /> Heavy Support: <br /> 1 Battle Wagon<br /> <br /> Fast Attack:<br /> 2 Dakka jets<br /> <br /> I love Orks and since the player in our group no longer wanted to play them I seized the opportunity to start playing them myself. I am new, but at least for today I did pretty well for my first time playing them. <br /> <br /> I believe in order to make a strong list at 1850, I am going to want 2 more BWs, and A LOT more troops. <br /> <br /> I was wondering if anyone would have any advice for me as far as if my mind is heading in the right direction on what I should be focusing on getting next. Also, any tips/tricks as far as strategies go would be great as well. I am going to be doing some more research and if I can think of any questions Ill be sure to ask. <br /> <br /> Edit: I did forget to mention a lot of the local guys around here that I play tend to run <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>MCs</span> quite a bit. What do you think is the best way to deal with them as Orks? The Riptide and Wraithknight are common. Any tips would be great!<br /> <br /> Thanks dakka community!]]></description>

I am wondering though, I am looking for grots with anti combat shield in my codex here and the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(36);'>FAQ</span> and cant seem to find them. <br /> <br /> Would you care to explain what I am missing here? 				<description><![CDATA[ He just means take the Grots *as* an anti-combat shield.<br /> <br /> The main ways to run Orks <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(258);'>atm</span> are;<br /> <br /> ~Green Tide: 100-180 of shoota boyz on foot, lootas and big guns fire support. Probably our most powerful build, but very tedious and expensive to collect and play because of the very high model count. This is what Ravenous D has suggested to you.<br /> <br /> ~Battlewagon Rush; 3 Battlewagons full of boyz and usually at least one of Nobs or MegaNobz. Lots of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(9);'>AV</span> 14 but loses pretty bad to certain armies builds (ie Eldar Lance Weapons). Would be amazing if the Battlewagons didn't kill half their passengers when they go boom. This is what you've suggested in the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(280);'>OP</span>.<br /> <br /> ~Trukk Rush: 5-6 trukkloads of slugga boyz with klaw nobs, support with various stuff. A bit weaker than the previous two builds mostly because its rather reliant on going first. This is how I usually play because I enjoy faster armies.<br /> <br /> ~Biker Horde; Run Wazdakka or Zhadsnark and use Bikers as troops. Good because it doesn't need lots of models, but probably not as strong as the builds that do. Another fast army which I use more and more as I get more bikes, vulnerable to Tau because they can ignore cover<br /> <br /> You've done well sofar with what you've chosen, only the Nobz are rubbish. They have almost no use in any list sadly, except perhaps as the cheapest way to take way more battlewagons (though I wouldn't recommend that).<br /> <br /> Lists are pretty straightforward for everything but bikers, which I can't quite nail down yet. So if your keen on any of the first three I can give you a hand.<br /> <br /> Also, Orks benefit enormously from Forgeworld rules, you'll want to get a copy of Imperial Armour 8 if its at all possible you can use them in your area. Certain users can help you with that.]]></description>

I used my son's old toys and orced them out.<br /> <br /> BW x 3 w/ DR, Red, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>BS</span><br /> Dakka Jet x 2<br /> Big Mek w/ <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(163);'>KFF</span><br /> Boyz x 20 x 2 (w/ <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>BS</span> x 2, Nob+<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(260);'>BP</span>)  I orefer Shoota boys, but sluga and choppa work well<br /> Boyzs x 19 (w/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>BS</span> and Nob/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(260);'>BP</span>)<br /> <br /> Add fill.<br /> <br /> T1 BW x 3 rush 13 " forward, then boost in run phase for another 7".  <br /> T2 BWs move 7" and unload boys 6".<br /> Start 12" in + 13+7+7+6 = 45" in.  Should be able to assault something.  Remember BWs kept open topped are assault vehicles]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Thank you everyone for the replies! <br /> <br /> I love to win more than anything haha, so if the green tide tactic has proven to be the strongest so far, then that is the route I would like to go. <br /> <br /> I do enjoy putting models together, so that part of it doesnt bother me. 				<description><![CDATA[ Haha yeah thats what I thought, but its worth it to be playing the army I truly wanted to play from the get go. I was playing Necrons at first and was doing very well, but I love da Orks. <br /> <br /> Like I said I almost won the very first game with them, it was actually a situation if it ended on turn 5 I wouldve won, but then a crucial tactical error by myself costed me the game. <br /> <br /> As of right now, I think ill buy more troops at least for now. I think BWs could be great as well. Either way im stoked to get going on the Orks. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Green Tide? <br /> <br /> Honestly, try before you buy, I didn't call it tedious for nothing.<br /> <br /> Borrow a bunch of models from your mates so you have 180. Then put them on a table with a bunch of terrain. Then move them each 6", keeping 2" spacing at all times, and then also make a 1d6" run move for each unit of 30. Do this 6 times and you have one game worth of movement.]]></description>

Bizarre I know but trust me.<br /> <br /> @Drunkstain if you line up your grotz in front of your shoota boyz (more effective shooting then in combat) you give most models behind them a 5+ cover, and if you have the Big mek close enough the the grots they also get a 5+ cover. It makes weeding them out very difficult and frustrating. As far as anti assault goes, if you face one of those <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(630);'>FMC</span> armies or anything quick, they have to deal with the grots first, which die fairly easily, but can quick sand big units and potentially leave the enemy standing in the open of your ork shooting army of death.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ You have got a good base for an Ork army. From what you said you are going to do (more Battlewagons and troops), I would get a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(163);'>KFF</span> on the Big Mek - this will give some kind of cover for your vehicles. One unit of Meganobz, they too can bring a Battlewagon. Purchase some more Lootas and have 3 units of 7.  On the Battlewagons add a dethrolla, armour plates, grot riggers, maybe a boarding plank and a big shoota. ]]></description>

				<title>Looking to get to strong 1850 Orks</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Welcome to the WAAAGH Drunkstain <img src="/s/i/a/5d13fa41280d6fdef786d41bc175d3f6.gif" border="0"><br /> <br /> Nice job scoring a couple of DakkaJets right off the bat!  I seriously wish that I'd had a couple when I first started (and now I do!).  Be sure to take them as DakkaJets though as they will help you maintain air superiority.  Blitza Bommers and Burna Bommers are not worth it when you can bring the DJs in on or after T2, Declare a WAAAGH, and fire all of their weapons twice.  2 Jets x 3 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> Supa Shooas (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>STR</span> 6 AP4 Assault 3, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span>), Firing Twice?  That's a nice 36 shots raining down either at a Tau walker or any kind of flyer, (not to mention that you get to hit on 4s when doing a strafing run on ground targets and 4s when you take Ace and go after other flyers).  You can even get 3 more shots/plane if you take flyboss and roll a 3-4 on the boss table to get extra shooty (fire one Supa Shoota twice per turn).<br /> <br /> It gets expensive if you kit them out with full options, but they're well worth it <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(72);'>IMO</span>.]]></description>

				<title>Looking to get to strong 1850 Orks</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Thank you everyone for their suggestions I love reading about other people's strats and what they do in games. Im one game deep in with the Orks and already love them. <br /> <br /> The Aegis defense line seems like a pretty good idea with the Lootas. They did a good amount of work last game for me. I brought them in turn 2 and declared the WAAAGH for 18 shots a piece and got first blood. They were doing some damage and fun to use. The Ork fluff of things just cracks me up. What do you guys think about the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(164);'>SAG</span> on the big mek? I used it last time instead of the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(163);'>KFF</span>, simply because the Tau player I was playing always has so many things that ignore cover. The <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(164);'>SAG</span> was strong when fired but I rolled an 11 with him multiple times so he wasnt shooting half the time haha. ]]></description>

Dammamite pretty much covered the tops. and you will get players that like to run diffrent forms of the list.<br /> as a smart idea of what to get next. well that all depends on the list of your choice, but in general ....'<br /> lootas,kannons for good fire support.<br /> and depends if you like the bw idea they cost alot in money here in the US to get alot of them but they sure are fun.<br /> dakkajets are great just very situational and some people tend to disagree with dakkajets. <br /> overall <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(380);'>gl</span> and keep your waaaghh the loudest!]]></description>

Now I'm kinda on the fence for it since I'm rolling, on average, 4 to 7 on the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>STR</span> rolls.  I've had the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(164);'>SAG</span> do pretty much every thing listed on the mishap table with some pretty amusing results; taking out a squad of Boyz, assaulting a Necron Warrior squad from across the board, the previously mentioned incident of sending the Chaos gits home... <img src="/s/i/a/baf5f2e54c6b17d5c5d39aecadfa1272.gif" border="0"> <br /> <br /> My opinion on it now is that the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(164);'>SAG</span> is great for Anti-Infantry, just don't expect it to do too much against vehicles (esp. Tau and Necrons...  <img src="/s/i/a/053f30f6773034eb25223d86f0e00d8d.gif" border="0"> )  ]]></description>
