Both limbs were chopped off. The multimelta was replaced wholesale with an ectoplasma cannon from a forgefiend, attached via magnets for easy removal and REAL SWIVELING ACTION. A few chopped off helbrute cables were used to replace missing bits on the cannon. It's pretty clear that the same guy sculpted both models, as they share a number of similarities that make parts easy to swap.


The shoulder plate from the meltagun arm was used on the fist arm's shoulder, and then positioned in a more manageable stance. This meant that there was no need for greenstuffing and plasticarding an entirely new shoulder, and kept the same aesthetic across the whole arm. Only liquid greenstuff was used for the entire model, and mostly just to fill in small gaps and seams.


One thing I'm not sure about yet is what to use for a head. I definitely didn't want to use the one that came with it, and didn't feel like LEDing this one up like a previous helbrute. Any suggestions on what to use to give it a more mechanical look?
