1750/2000 Iyanden Supplement Wraith List

I asked for feedback on a Iyanden wraith list not too long ago. I've now gone with a similar list and won the first four games quite decisively. So I thought I'd share.

After a lot of masking tape action, I got my models ready to play. The paint job isn't finished, but I was itching to see what they could do. Oh boy, I discovered they can do wonderful things!

1 HQ
Spiritseers [Iyanden] (185)
+ Wraithseer, The Wraithforge Stone [Iyanden], Guardian Helm of Xellon [Iyanden] (115)
+ Wraithseer (70)

4 Troops
5 Wraithguards (160)
+ Serpent, TL Scatterlaser, Shurikencannon, Holofield (145) (305)
5 Wraithguards (160)
+ Serpent, TL Scatterlaser, Shurikencannon, Holofield (145) (305)
5 Wraithguards, Warpscythes (210)
+ Serpent, TL Scatterlaser, Shurikencannon, Holofield (145) (355)
5 Wraithblades, Ghostaxe and Shield (160)
+ Serpent, TL Scatterlaser, TL Shurikencatapult, Holofield (135) (295)

1 Heavy Support
Wraithknight, Suncannon and Shield, 1 x Scatterlaser (300)

Total 1750 Points

Addition for 2000 Point games:
Heavy Support:
6 Reavers,
+ Starstrike rockets,
+ Exarch, Reaver-Launcher, Starstrike Rockets, Nightsight, Firestorm

I put this list together with the idea of playing something completely different. Iyaden being heavily reliant on Wraith constructs appealed to me and I went as far as I could points permitting with this theme.

The list uses the Iyanden Eldar Supplement. That allows me to designate the Wraithknight as Warlord and gives me the chance that he gets nice buffs from the Iyaden Warlord table. The supplement also allows sticking up to five Spiritseers into one HQ slot. The Wraithforge Stone can heal a Wraith unit for 1 point on 3+, the guardian helm is automatic success on Look-out Sir! and permits delegating challenges to a wraith model in the same unit.

More importantly for the short-weapon range of the droids (12", flames or melee only) is the Iyanden Primaris Power for Runes of Battle. This grants all wraith units within 12" of the caster Battletrance and Furious Charge, offering improved mobility.

The Serpents can transport 6 of the Wraithguards - or five of them plus a seer. The 12" movement distance is great, but the serpents do not offer fireports or serve as assault vehicle.

The Wraith units offer a respectable amount of AP2 attacks. In total 10 shots S10 AP2, 5 Flame templates S4 AP2 and three 3" blasts S6 AP2 blasts from the knight.

In addition to the wraith AP2 attacks, the serpents offer significant fire support. A hit with the twinlinked Scatterlaser makes all other weapons twinlinked. The Serpentshield offers D6+1 60" S7 shots that ignore cover. Add a Shurikencannon and the Serpent kicks out a nasty amount of S6/S7 shots which lack AP, but saturate a target quickly.

I wrote the above in hindsight, with four 1v1 games under my belt in the last few days.
You can find the battle reports for three of those games on my blog.

Battle report Tyranids vs Iyanden 2000 pts
Battle report Imperial Fists vs Iyanden 2000 pts
Battle report Grey Knights vs Iyanden 1750 pts

I'd be happy to hear feedback on my list and tactics! =]

I think you mean Spiritseers for you HQ

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Eldar/ELDAR-WRAITHSEER.html

Thats the wraith seer, He's one bad mofo.

WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
5 4 10 8 4 4 3 10 3+/5+

Pskyer LvL 1,

can take one of these

Bright Lance
Scatter Laser
Eldar Missile Launcher
Star Cannon
D-Cannon

Eldar Wraithseer

Can cast one of these per turn.

(Imperial Armour Apocalypse, Second Edition
, p59)
Eldar Wraithseers gain the following special rule, which replaces the

Wraithseer Powers rule: Psyker (Mastery level 1).

Wraithseer Psychic powers: Wraithseers have the following Psychic
powers. These powers completely replace those listed in
Imperial Armour
Apocalypse, Second Edition
.
Foreboding
(Warp Charge 1)
The Wraithseer invokes the terror of death upon the lesser species,
clouding their minds with dread.
Foreboding is a nova power, except that it targets any one enemy unit
within 18". The target unit must make an immediate Pinning test at -2 to
their Leadership.

Enliven
(Warp Charge 1)
The Wraithseer enlivens the Eldar spirit stones around him, bringing them
fresh vigour and life.Enliven is a blessing
that targets a single friendly Wraithlord or
Wraithguard squad within 12” of the Wraithseer. Whilst this power is in
effect the target unit gains the Fleet special rule.

Deliverance
(Warp Charge 1)
The fates are marshalled to protect the Wraithseer and its charges.
Deliverance is a
blessing
that targets a single friendly Wraithlord or Wraithguard within 6” of the Wraithseer (the Wraithseer may be chosen
as the target of this power). Whilst this power is in effect the target unit gains the Feel No Pain (4+) special rule

I got one for my Iyanden themed army. I've only heard positive reviews on it and heard it preforms well. Just remember that all the things that boost your
other wraith units dont boost him cause he's forge world and not listed in the codex. But giving your guys feel no pain and giving your wraith units fleet are both pretty awesome.
And that D-Cannon tho.

36in range AP 2, Heavy1 Blast Barrage Wounds on 2's or better, 6's cause instant death regardless of toughness
against armor 3-4 glance 5-6 pen

that can get serious pretty quick, cost 40 points tho.....

Just sayin thats a TRUE wraith seer. you might wanna look into if your local group isnt up in arms against anything forgeworld.
There are guys around here who play whole red scorpion armies so its not that big a deal for me.
