				<description><![CDATA[ Hi all,<br /> <br /> I've been trying to work out the competitive elements of a white scars army. Here is my take on it:<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>:<br /> Khan w/ Moondrakken - 150<br /> Chapter Master w/ Bike, Artificer Armour, Bunring Blade, Eternal Warrior - 275<br /> <br /> Troops:<br /> Bike Squad w/ +5 men, 2 Meltaguns, Combi-Melta, Attack Bike: Multi-Melta - 253<br /> Bike Squad w/ +5 men, 2 Meltaguns, Combi-Melta, Attack Bike: Multi-Melta - 253<br /> Bike Squad w/ +2 men, 2 Grav Guns, Combi-Grav, Meltabombs - 150<br /> Bike Squad w/ +2 men, 2 Grav Guns, Veteran Sargent, Power Lance, Meltabombs - 165<br /> <br /> Fast Attack:<br /> Stormtalon Gunship w/ Skyhammer Missiles - 125<br /> Stormtalon Gunship w/ Skyhammer Missiles - 125<br /> <br /> I would combat squad the full bike squads into 2 squads, one with sargent and attack bike and the other with the meltaguns. That gives me 6 bike squads on the board. Khan and the Chapter Master join the last bike squad. This will give 7 bikes, all with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(627);'>HoW</span>, Furious Charge, Power Lance sargent (S6, AP3 on charge) to accept / issue challanges, Khan, a beatstick Master and 2 grav-guns. The master will ride up front to tank the wounds.<br /> <br /> Anyway, what do you think?<br /> Zambro]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ At 1500 you're going to face two problems, one being the lack of good scoring troops. <br /> <br /> The other is range, very limited range army which will have trouble in some deployment types and vs some armies. <br /> <br /> I suggest cutting the chapter masters upgrades for some sniper scouts. WIll give you some range OR a dedicated scoring unit depending on what you want them to do that turn. <br /> <br /> <br /> This is a scary army though.]]></description>

That throws me 12" closer to the enemy before the game even starts.]]></description>

Surely a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(224);'>TH</span> would be a better fit, for 25 less points. <br /> <br /> Looks fairly solid. Decent number of Grav weapons, moving and shooting orbital bombardment, a smattering of melta and 2 talons for support and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span>.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I tried including a Command Squad but the points required for that would be taking away from my scoring units.<br /> <br /> Thats a good point, fling, but it poses a question who's answer i'm not sure on. Furious Charge gives +1 to the S, does the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(224);'>TH</span>'s x2 strength happen before, or after, the furious charge bonus? I.E. Would i be S9 or S10?<br /> Also, does striking at I1 matter all that much with the Chapter Master? I'm leaning toward no, but i'm not certain of the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> capabilities of the dudes he'll likely be charging.<br /> <br /> Where should I invest the last 25 points?]]></description>

If you're going to tourneys you'll need <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span> and they can smack down skimmers and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(630);'>FMC</span> too. ]]></description>

(On the charge) He'll have S6 (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(397);'>FC</span> and Lance) AP3 with 3 attacks, that should do well against most units I'd charge. That leaves Khan and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(746);'>CM</span> to wreck havoc in the actual unit. Or, if the challanger/challengee is the warlord, the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(746);'>CM</span> will step forward and beat-face.<br /> <br /> I've considered taking hunters and stalkers, and whilst they provide excellent <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span>, that is all they do. Their ability to hit ground targets is poor, meaning once the skies are clear, they have very little use. The Stormtalons, however, can clear the skies then fire down on the enemy at BS5 - their roles extends beyond an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span> role. If i was to consider getting one, i'd go with the Stalker, and drop a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(171);'>ST</span> and use the points from the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(746);'>CM</span> losing the Burning Blade to get 2 Stalkers. I have done a fair amount of research into the pros/cons of each, and it just made my head spin (have you read that thread in the tactics section? It goes back and forth like crazy). The reason i'd go with stalkers is the volume of fire is favourable, and is increasingly reliable at BS2 (plus twinlined)) when shooting ground targets.<br /> <br /> Appreciate all the help so far guys, thanks!]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Hunter/Stalker, a couple of either work. Just remember skyfire can still target skimmers at full <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>BS</span>... And you'll see plenty of those in competitive play. <br /> <br /> One other thing to consider. 3 grav centurions walking up the center of the field might help more than the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(746);'>CM</span>. but he's probably more fun. ]]></description>

Dam, looks like i'm getting two stalkers <img src="/s/i/a/baf5f2e54c6b17d5c5d39aecadfa1272.gif" border="0"><br /> <br /> Is it worth keeping the lone Stormtalon in the list? It'd get shot up pretty bad. What should I get instead?<br /> <br /> And no to the grav cents. 				<description><![CDATA[ If you wanted to test run the Centurions, just sideline the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(746);'>CM</span> (he's more expensive than a solid 3 man <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(583);'>GC</span> squad). If you hated it, an easy swap back. <br /> <br /> All and all good list. I've had good luck with a single Stalon, but <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(274);'>YMMV</span>. For competition it looks like same points in two Hunter/Stalkers might be better, but a Talon is much more versatile. <br /> <br /> Be careful taking too many bikers away for other things. Grav bikers are gravy right now, but they work best en masse. ]]></description>
