So was talking to a friend about this...

Who are each of the Chaos God's most powerful servants?

I think it is agreed that Khorne's is Doombreed followed closely by Angron and Slaanesh's is N'Kari but not sure who is next, maybe Fulgrim?

Others say Daemon Primarch Angron. These guys don't even come close. Sure, Kharn has sopecial favour, but he is simply incapable of causing as much RAAAGEEE and cklaiming as many SKUUUULLLSSSS as, say, a Bloodthirsters, or Skarbrand or Agron.
Lucius is nothing compared to Daemons of Slaanesh, simple.
Daemon Mortarian is certainly a competitor but Typhus is not.
Kairos could be considered, but if you consider the fact he has 2 heads is because he annoyed Tzeentch so much, then you have to look elsewhere.

Judging by game stats, Angron was superior to Skarbrand before he ever ascended (Though his stats are not quite An'ggrath level).

Chaos is unreliable. The mightiest will become the weakest in the snap of a finger and all things cahnge by the flowing of time. That being said, for what it seems, I'd feel it best to not try to figure out who necessarily is the mightiest. Doombreed seems like it but then other fluff goes on about how Angron IS the mightiest as well. I personally like to think that each of the two has two gods that are the mightiest. Well yes, of course. Like I said, Daemon Primarchs are a stage above regular Princes, and judging by Angron's apocalypse stats he is better, but those are regular Bloodthirsters. Anngrath is a stage above them. So its really a question of who wins- Greater Daemon (Lord) or Daemon Prince (Primarch). Going by the precident set of a regular GD vs DP, I have to say Anngrath wins.

But then comes the problem that Ka'Bandha is the mightiest Bloodthirster. And on Doombreed specifically.

Its not so much a case of "You must vote only for Daemons", more "You must vote for Daemons (ie, the Lords and Primarchs) because no one else can even compete with them."

For example,.you mention Kharn being around since the GC, but so has Angron, and he's a Primarch, now a Daemon as well. Chaos Eldar haven't been mentioned since 2nd edition, if memory serves, and there's nothing to suggest that they'd be more powerful than a Daemon Primarch in any case.

He was holding his own against Lorgar, maybe even winning, but he was losing against Angron. Slowly, he was a Primarch after all, and he's not a pushover by any stretch but he eventually would have probably lost. Might have won, might have gone into stalemate or might even pull a Leman Russ move and have his Legion encircle Angron or shoot him down. But once Angron went full Daemon, Guilliman had no response. He had just witnessed his brother turn into a 20 foot tall raging red monster, eat one of Angrons own sons and then smash a Comtemptor Dreadnought apart without effort. Answer? Considering Lorgar "defeating Anngrath" happened during Chaos' sales pitch about how he's the Chosen of Chaos who will save humanity and should totally start a bloody crusade, I wouldn't put too much weight on that. It's hard to judge power when Greater Daemons are involved. "X Primarch/Chapter Master/whatever choked a KS/LoC/BT/GUO to death" isn't enough. Just look at the difference between M'kar and N'kari, and they're both Slaaneshi!

It's also entirely possible that there are even greater daemonic entities that lurk in the Warp, far too powerful to ever truly enter realspace (like the Gods themselves). Remember the Great Game; it's quite possible that such servants would be exclusive to inter-God battles and the like. But If I had to say...

tzeentch: Aetaos'Rau'Keres (oldest Lord of change around) OR the blue scribes indirectly as they have ridiculous magical powers

Khorne: Agron is pretty powerful,but I'd say An'ggrath.

Slaanesh: the keeper of secrets Zarakynel

Nurgle: Scabeiathrax, a great unclean one

These are all basically apocalypse characters that cost about 800pts each but their profile says that they are each one bad mofo.

Overall though It's probably Abbadon as he can get them all to come together for a while which makes him pretty damn powerful.

You seem to be confusing Aetaos'rau'keres for Doombreed. Aetao is a mighty Lord of Change, Doombreed an ancient Khornate Daemon Prince.

The citations say this is from the 4E CSM Codex and the Black Legion supplement, although it is not clear if it is citing the "most powerful" or "cloak of skulls" bit. I imagine he would be, though, being the oldest.

There is literally not a single reference to Doombreed being mightier than the Daemon Primarchs, nor Angron specifically. Not one.

Primarchs have consistently been capable of felling among the most powerful of a God's servants, and this is pre-Daemon. Not to mention, many of their number have been referred to as the most powerful of their servants, either explicitly or implicitly. Angron is called Khorne's favored and mightiest servant on many occasions, for example. Magnus has on at least two separate occasions had his power explicitly compared to the Emperor's, a being far greater than any Daemon.

Also, M'kar is a Daemon Prince of Chaos Undivided.

It's also entirely possible that there are even greater daemonic entities that lurk in the Warp, far too powerful to ever truly enter realspace (like the Gods themselves). Remember the Great Game; it's quite possible that such servants would be exclusive to inter-God battles and the like. Just a thought.

You seem to be confusing Aetaos'rau'keres for Doombreed. Aetao is a mighty Lord of Change, Doombreed an ancient Khornate Daemon Prince.

No, they would not have.

Doombreed has appeared all of four times in the fluff. The 2e Chaos codex, the 4e Chaos Marine codex, the 6e Black Legion supplement, and Liber Chaotica. I've read all four, and nowhere is Doombreed said to be stronger than the Daemon Primarchs.
