http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/73.page JForum - http://www.jforum.net Euphoria Miniatures is a Spanish sci-fi skirmish wargame that recently ended a succesful indiegogo and we really liked the idea of the game, so we decided to make our own terrain for the game. We came up with idea of making a completely scratch built abandoned jail.
Most modules are made out of foamcore. We found loads of foamcore boards at a local department store that used foamcore as base for their advertising. When changing all this advertising for the new season or new offers they throw them away, so we asked if we could take them and they happily said yes. Cheap foamcore guys!
The rest of modules, like the inner courtyard is made out of different pieces of packaging polystyrene (from DVD's or microwave ovens or things like that) from which we cut out the pieces that because of its shape suited us and glued them together then used putty to fill in the gaps and try to conceal the polystyrene pattern.

Television Control Room:



The computers and consoles are bits from different broken toys we gather up (from friends sons, trash or whereever, xD).
The electric chair is actually a car seat from an old toy, fit in a base we made with foamcore scraps, and some tiny cymbal like thingys that they sell in the asian bazaars (here in Spain there are loads of chinese bazaars) and we actually still don't know what they orginally are for!

Showers/Boiler Room:


Shower floor is also made out of foamcore. We slightly cut 5mm squares with an xacto knife and then marked the groove with the tip of a pencil to make the edges straight and tile-like.
The walls also foamcore, but double size.
Boiler room parts are old copper pipes and more toy bits from our collection.

Laundry Room:




The laundry room floor and walls is made with the same technique used in the showers, but with biiger tiles. 1cm for the floor and 1'5 on the walls.
The washing-machines are actually empty kids paint containers. Place upside down and well cleaned they made perfect washing machines, placed on top of styrofoam carved bricks.


Cell Bloks:




All cell blocks are made entirely from foamcore, pieces cut out and assembled like a puzzle.
Holes were made in some walls, and some gates were placed closes to create passage ways and hiding places to use in the game. Cell doors are made from an old bird cage, we cut sections out and stuck them to foamcore strips to make cell doors.

Inner Courtyard:

As I mentioned before, the courtyard is made from different parts of polystyrene packaging.
The gateway entrance is part of a metal cd rack, and the broken door is a scrap piece of foamcore shaped and carved.
Instead of making the typical Catholic or Christian sanctuary, we decided to make a Buddhist shrine, just for the sake of making something different.
