How do Necron Invasions go?

I mean, all the time I see Necrons, mostly in Dawn of War, they are sleeping in the area that the other races are fighting over, so the Necrons wake up, start getting their gak together, and kill everything.

I haven't seen any scenarios where the Necrons are invading, they are basically defending their turf. Thats all I see in fluff.

I would think that when Necrons actually are the ones invading, they would OWN, amirite?

Hah, IA12 explains precisely what happens when a Necron force goes on the offensive.

It's probably hyperbole, but I'd say 'defending their turf' is essentially what they do in every encounter since they pretty much owned the galaxy at one point.

Also, there are many descriptions in pre-IA12 where Necrons go on the offensive. Not sure why you think their only appearances are when a war on the surface of a tomb world is occurring, that isn't the case.

Oh feth can't wait to read that. You've posted some interesting gak, that go along the lines like this:

"Early man learned very quickly that the Jungles and Deserts were terrible places to be where he could die at the drop of a hat and for no reason, let alone to the panther or the buffalo. He also knew that sometimes, they just didn't care, and until Prometheus enacted his bastardization of the Luciferian Teachings and created the first Religion through the harnessing and control of fire, this is how man lives. Foraging by day. Avoidance by night.

Now a days, through that bastardization of the First Religion, Man fights amongst himself and no longer hides. The Fence grew, and now we're the only animals left on the planet, realistically speaking. Everything on this planet, including man himself, is at crisis because of these destructive behaviors and habits.

How does this tie into Close Combat? What I'm describing is why Close Combat even exists in the first place. Think about it: It Exists. Why? This is symptomatic of a greater mental disease that afflicts our species and it came with the illusion of intelligence, separation from the nature, and our constant (and often times fruitless) searching for "the meaning of it all."

Makes sense to me.

The necrom in Orpheus are quite good. I like the scene where they have counsils with the human representative and some of the nevrons are flayed once.

Also, the smoke screen of deleyed times is good.

Also there is an exerpt towards the end where an inquisitor intergetas a soldier that enda on a high note. :-)
