				<description><![CDATA[ So as it says, I realize this is an "elite of the elites" kind of army, I fully expect to be outnumbered and probably outgunned but would the sons of Sanguinius want an easy fight? <br /> Anyways here it is:<br /> <br /> Dante<br /> <br /> x3 Sanguinary Priests w/ Jump Packs<br /> <br /> x5 Sanguinary Guard, x5 Inferno Pistols, x4 Glaives/x1 Fist<br /> x5 Sanguinary Guard, x3 Inferno Pistols, x2 Angelus Boltguns, x4 Glaives/x1 Fist<br /> x5 Sanguinary Guard, x3 Inferno Pistols, x2 Angelus Boltguns, x4 Glaives/x1 Fist<br /> <br /> This comes to 1170pts out of 1250pts. Am I on the right track? 				<description><![CDATA[ If looking for Sanguinary Guard army, you're definitely on the right track. This army does, however, have a huge problem with model count (duh!). Priests will help a little but still it's going to be a tough game. I recommend taking some Inferno Pistols/Power Fists off. 3 in each squad is a bit overkill since Dante's squad will deal the toughest tank by itself.<br /> <br /> And every squad doesn't need Priest if you play them together. 				<description><![CDATA[ Yeh defo drop the inferno pistols on all sang guard units but the dante bomb as you have to charge what you shoot anyway, and if within 3" melta range you will definitely be getting that powerfist stuck into tanks on the charge. Soomemafia also makes a good point about the priests. If going for 1.5k get a raven for <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span> with 50pts to spare.<br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: 9px; line-height: normal;">Automatically Appended Next Post:</span><br /> Don't go defensive. Against some armies you may even want to start Dante's squad on the board.<br /> <br /> When you go to higher point games, you may want to consider some sniper scouts with camo cloaks and an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(637);'>ADL</span> with Quad-Gun. Cheap <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span> and home objective scoring. <br /> <br /> I will always place objectives midtable with this type of force. 				<description><![CDATA[ Something else I've been thinking about is how does this kind of army stack up against its equivalents in other chapters? <br /> I poked at some lists for deathwing (great saves, good range on guns but kinda slow if you don't deep strike or roll in land raiders), ravenwing ( good saves, good firepower, better toughness and maybe even more mobile but way more $$ expensive to fill 1250pts) or even grey knights (this list was crazy, one librarian, six paladins and two squads of five terminators with all upgrades said and done was 1250 haha). <br /> I almost hate to ask,  but as far as cash and low body count goes it Dante and the Sanguinary Guard are most efficient. It couldn't be because they aren't as good as these other elite style lists could it? I hate to think it, but because this game isn't cheap, it is something to consider before jumping into gold winged armor <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(84);'>lol</span><br /> <br /> Any thoughts on that?<br /> -CotW]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ They really suffer due to no invuln. Pretty useless against some armies, such as eldar - weight of fire AND all that rending just shreds them. Orks and nids - just cant deal with that many bodies.<br /> Take them with tank support. This is why I say flamestorm baals have good synergy with them. 1.) The baals distract heavy firepower away from the guard. 2.) They help massively thin out horde. 3.) They can be used to give cover to the guard. 4.) Running alongside the guard means the guard can protect them from assault. 5.) Anyone who wants to get in melta range even for a multimelta needs to get in the guards charge range.<br /> And lastly - scout on an av13 tank with a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(171);'>st</span> 6 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>ap</span> 3 flamer and 2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(171);'>st</span> 5 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>ap</span> 4 flamers or heavy bolters is very nice!]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ So they lack the invuln of deathwing and grey knights, the T5 and jink of ravenwing. But they come pretty well kitted out without any upgrades. The feel no pain bubble from the priest can supplement the lack of invulnerable save but only to a certain degree.its not that I don't want to jump into the idea, because I like the concept of the army very fast moving pretty hard heading and relatively resilient.it's been a pretty fruitless search trying to find anything as far as battle reports to see these guys in action, if there's any popularity to this theme of Army no its recording how good / bad it does on the table top.<br /> <br /> I guess what I'm curious about is, despite the learning curve involved with such a small model count army, I guess I need to find out if it's worth the investment. 				<description><![CDATA[ When using this army. Deep strike some. Remeber DO NOT go toe to toe with the enemy army. Concentrate your forces on one piece of the army (deep striking comes into play) (recommend giving some sang guard inferno/plasma pistols) this way you maximize your power on one section of the enemy line while decreasing his potential power. 				<description><![CDATA[ I know the potential power of packing in some plasma pistols, but I had thought losing some of my already too few models to Gets Hot burns wouldnt be useful....even with the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(265);'>FnP</span> bubble from the Priests. I'm not opposed to trying it out, maybe a squad of primarily plasma armed Sang Guard accompanied by a Prescience Librarian to keep casualties low.
