Each assault marine squad has 6 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(171);'>st</span> 9 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>ap</span> 2 (unwieldy), 4 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(171);'>st</span> 10 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>ap</span> 2 attacks and 25 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(171);'>st</span> 5 attacks on the charge, a danger to <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>MCs</span> as if I deny the challenge, only 1 model will be challenged out.. Specifically aimed at gunline armies with mass <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(171);'>st</span> 6/7/8 shots, not a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>TAC</span> list. All raiders benefit from 5+ cover due to shield. OR, they can take unleash rage (preferred enemy in assault) and sanguine shield (5+ cover save for vehicles). OR you can take mephiston. 				<description><![CDATA[ The reason I put 2 libbys in, is that for each assault squad, I can deny a challenge if I choose and still have 2 hard hitting models. If no challenge is issued I have 3 hard hitting models (going along the warhammer lines of get all those characters in the front rank of a combat to curb stomp that particular combat) Presience would be a good shout, and pretty much any other divination power, but then I lose sword (still - could be worth it). I could drop a libby, but then I pay points for a unit instead that will not be <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(9);'>av</span> 14 and so will give my opponent something worth shooting.]]></description>

If they take a power weapon and I deny a challenge against an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>mc</span> for example, the opponent will just deny the remaining power fist or the st10 librarian, so only one model can reliably harm the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>mc</span>. However if I have 2 fists, and I dont accept a challenge, I will have 2 models which can still screw up an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>mc</span>. Hurricanes are good but I dont have the points.]]></description>

OR, you can kit out a Honor guard squad (yay free priest) w/ power weapons/fists a banner and get the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span> as a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(458);'>DT</span>. ]]></description>

I rarely use <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LRs</span> bar for <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(349);'>DC</span> so I have never really looked into that. in that case I recommend a unit of honor guard w/ power weapons/fists and the banner. this also frees up some points if I calculate correctly. <br /> <br /> (terminators vs gunlines are over kill, eldar don't do gunlines, if you are worred about <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>MCs</span>, your not worried about gunlines. shooty armies are not inherently gunlines. that being said, all gunlines are shooty armies. <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(84);'>lol</span>. <br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: 9px; line-height: normal;">Automatically Appended Next Post:</span><br /> this also lets you drop a sang priest or corbulo as the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(337);'>HG</span> come built in with one. ]]></description>

In fact, instead of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(337);'>HG</span> I can run <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(349);'>DC</span>, I wont get the banner but it will provide me with twice as many bodies in that raider. Tau run gunlines with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>mcs</span> as do some eldar builds. Powerfists are also extremely useful against tank lines compared to a power axe. The <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>mcs</span> were only an example. The powerfists are also <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>mc</span> cover not a focus of the army.]]></description>

Even if you apply the 35point transport deduction to them rather than the transport they still come in at 185pts not 130pts. So the list would be 165pts over. <br /> You have gone for numbers, having 4 assault units rather than 3, deploying from raiders and a raven, whereas I have gone for 3 hard hitting units deploying from 3 raiders. When one of my assault squads assaults, it will have 4 st10 ap2 attacks, 6 st9 ap2 attacks and 25 st5 attacks. A normal assault squad will instead have 4 st5 ap2 attacks and 25 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(171);'>st</span> 5 attacks. Its a big difference. Quantity and quality, both have their advantages.]]></description>
