Draigo and Mordrak a bad idea for double force org 2000 comp?

Just how dumb would it be to field an army with both Draigo and Mordrak for a 2000 point double force org tournament? I'm thinking a smarter plan would be to get two bog standard inquisitors and four basic strike squads and then go nuts with heavy weapon choices. I've never played this many points or double force org so any advice would be gratefully received

Well, both Draigo and Mordrak are too many points. If you want Mordrak, you need a plan for alpha strike and build the army around him and his ghosts.

any suggestions on how to go about that? I'm still getting to grips with how a Grey Knight army works best. I've been using them as allies and found them so much fun that I took the plunge to use them as a larger force. The only problem is that larger forces seem to be predominantly Inquisition centric.

Draigo and Mordrak a bad idea for double force org 2000 comp?

Heard about a quite funny list to play and supposedly hateful to meet.
- Basically you go Mordrak with some Ghost Knights, I think max of 5 is best. Then you add Draigo and put him up front when you deep strike in on the first turn, preferably in your opponents face, shoots him up turn one and swings turn two.
- To back this death star you add 3 teleporting Dreadknights that shunt 30' on their first move, all with Heavy Incinerators to take care of any infantry. This adds up to about 1400pts.
- Now add a few (3) Strike squads of 5 man each with rhinos and 3 Solodins (which are scoring due to Draigo). That's 6 scoring units, a big deathstar and alot of Monstrous Creatures hurting the other side.

Have fun!

Ok a dry run of Nerwind's suggestion using the models I have
Hq = draigo, mordrak and his ghost squad, coteaz.
Troops= two strike squads of five men with one psicannon and demon hammer per squad. Two solodins.
Elites = one techmarine with a conversion beamer, a vindicare and a grenade tech.
Heavy support = 2 teleporter dread knights with incinerators and greatswords and a landraider crusader. Also an aegis with quad gun.

The idea would be to use mordraks nonscattering first turn deepstrike to get him and draigo in behind enemy lines and use the teleporting dreadknights to support them while draigo hides behind the aegis giving prescience to either the vindicare or a strike squad manning the quad gun. Then use the landraider to run the solodins and other strike squad with the grenade tech up the field. All of which comes to 1998.

i use the mordak bomb a litte differently , I take libby and have mordak join the indy character ( since mordak is a character). have them alpha strike , if tey survire, you have a teleport homer on the libby and you can have your reserves home in on him with a 2+ on turn two. and you can do the denille game too with mordak and a libby by making your enemy come in on 5+ for two turns.

Some feedback: The Landraider can only transport one squad + any ICs. So run one SS in the Landraider with the tech, park the solodins on home objective and any other ones close to home. I personally haven't had much luck with the conversion beamer, so I would drop him and maybe get another scoring unit.

Draigo and Mordrak a bad idea for double force org 2000 comp?

Another attempt. The idea is still to use Mordrak and his ghosts to deepstrike in with the malleus inquisitor and support them with the interceptor squad while the dreads pummel as much as possible while the rest go hunt for objectives. So what am I missing? This is for a double force org competition so unfortunately I need four troop squads, otherwise I'd have a vindicare and conversion beamer techmarine in there as well as an adl with quad gun.

hq =Malleus Inquisitor,Mordrak and five Ghost knights

Troops = 3 five man Strike squads with 1 psicannon and demon hammer.
Re:Draigo and Mordrak a bad idea for double force org 2000 comp?

That was quite possibly the most fun I've had at a tournament . I lost my first two games through bad tactics and nearly won the last game until I realised that my opponent got extra points for killing my heavy support which gave him the 3 victory points he needed to pip me by one. My one problem now is how to cut this list down to 1850 . Mordrak was fun to use and he did get me linebreaker a few times but he's a lot of points and when you have dante, sanguinary guard, a tactical squad, death company squad and a dreadnaught all firing at him he doesn't last long . The psirifle dread where a revelation, they let me kill the bulk of an ork boys mob. And the Dread Knight was just a blast to use. The amount of damage he can soak up is amazing. Time to figure out how I can field all of them with just one force org
