Supposed to be fun but with a chance of winning:<br /> <br /> Iron hands<br /> Chapter master<br /> Bike, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(224);'>TH</span>, SE<br /> <br /> Chapter master<br /> Bike, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span>, ToT, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(221);'>SS</span><br /> <br /> Chapter master<br /> Bike, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span>, BB, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(221);'>SS</span><br /> <br /> Chapter master<br /> Bike, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>PF</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(221);'>SS</span><br /> <br /> Bike squad x2<br /> 5 man<br /> 2 grav, combi grav<br /> <br /> Bike squad x2<br /> 5 man<br /> 2 melta, combi melta, melta bombs<br /> <br /> Stormtalon<br /> Skyhammer<br /> <br /> Whirlwind<br /> <br /> Allies <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(10);'>BA</span><br /> Mephiston<br /> <br /> Scout squad<br /> Snipers, camo cloaks<br /> <br /> 2k<br /> <br /> 5 scoring units. 4 of which are tanked by t5 2+/3++ 6+<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(265);'>fnp</span> characters. When the characters leave, these units are still t5 3+ with 5+ jink and 6+ <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(265);'>fnp</span>. Another scoring unit with a 3+ cover at distance. So the scoring is not as fragile as first seems.<br /> Stormtalon for some limited <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span>. If worried about flyers - can just pile into combat.<br /> Whilrwind for horde control (steal at 65pts when all the opponents heavy weapons will be focused elsewhere).<br /> 18 grav shots shooting turn 1 as well as 4 orbital bombardments. Melta squads to help take out tanks/cover av14. 24 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>tl</span> bolters for horde control.<br /> 5 fast close combat monsters. 2 which can deal with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>MCs</span> without worry - mephy, shield eternal <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(746);'>cm</span>. All but mephy have 6+ <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(265);'>fnp</span> and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(681);'>IWND</span> to really take advantage of the Iron Hands <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(436);'>CT</span>.<br /> Any st10 ap2 ordinance that hasn't scattered can be <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(85);'>LOS</span> to the bikes, if failed then there is still the 3++ for the cms. If it is exceptionally lucky and kills a chap master - you still have 4 monsters approaching you... fast!<br /> <br /> "Well D weapons would kill that"... yes D weapons excel at everything that is not an extreme <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(308);'>MSU</span> build. Im not attempting an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(308);'>MSU</span> build here (they may be multiple small units but they are expensive so not traditional <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(308);'>msu</span>), therefore im not bothered about D weapons as this isnt a tourney list but a fun list, so if facing superheavys I would merely take another list.<br /> <br /> Can it however be semi-competitive in a 'traditional' <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> environment?]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ He might be too slow, but if you really want to dick around with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>MCs</span> consider Vaylund Cal, the Sons of Medusa (Iron Hands) special character from Forge World.<br /> <br /> He's a chapter master with +1 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>Str</span> and +2 toughness, with -1 wound. He's bulky, on a 40mm base, has a servo-harness and blessing of the omnissiah, a thunder hammer, an iron halo, <br /> <br /> I also suggest you look at the Iron Hands supplement. One of the relics makes chapter masters even more ridiculously tough, providing Eternal Warrior, +1 Feel no Pain, and a 3+ invuln for 45 points and without taking up a hand (so you can still bring two weapons).]]></description>

Plus if I ever invest in forgeworld, which I intend to in the future, a spartan has always been at the forefront of my shopping list! Excellent suggestions!<br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: 9px; line-height: normal;">Automatically Appended Next Post:</span><br /> So if I drop the whirlwind and get this extra relic (im guessing its the gorgons chain I see mentioned everywhere), I could then also drop the storm shield if its already got a 3++, giving me 40pts. I can now upgrade the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>pf</span> to a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(224);'>th</span> and get a lightening claw to go with it for +1A. With the 10pts left over the ToT and BB chap masters can have <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(254);'>mbs</span> so all can deal with high rear armour <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(9);'>av</span> tanks reliably.
