Yup, I applied to three schools. UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz and UC LA. I haven't heard from Berkeley or LA yet. But Santa Cruz wants me in their Sociology program. I hear from Berkeley at the end of the month and LA well I don't know. I hope you get into the school of your choice. I suspect that you have something of a head start when it it comes to sociology.

make sure you spend time finding out what companies want people with sociology degrees, as connections will be far more important the GPA in that realm for finding a job.

In your second year search out counselors for internships in your field of study and DO THAT.
