1000 and 1500 point Eldar lists

So here is the base of my army at 1000 points:

Autarch 140
-Jetbike
-Banshee Mask
-Laser Lance
-Shard of Anaris

4 Shining Spears 140
-Exarch
--Star Lance
--Monster Hunter
--Hit and Run

(3x) 6 Windriders 366
--(2x) Shuriken Cannons

10 Guardian Defenders 240
-Shuriken Cannon
-Wave Serpent
--TL Scatter Lasers
--Holo-fields

6 Warp Spiders 114

Which totals 1000 points. With the new edition coming out, it sounds like I might need to squeeze in at least a Warlock into this list for extra psychic defense. Would it make sense to drop the Shard to add a Warlock to the Guardians and upgrade their Shuriken Cannon to a Bright Lance? I'm thinking no, but I'm willing to be convinced. Originally, I was going to expand this list to 1500 points by adding two more spears and three Falcons with Scatter Lasers and Holo-fields, but I'm thinking I'll hold off on that--the more I stare at my Falcons, the less I want to paint them. Now I'm thinking this instead:

Autarch 143
-Jetbike
-Banshee Mask
-Fusion Gun
-Scorpion Chainsword
-Shard of Anaris

(1x) Warlock 35
(Goes with the Guardians)

4 Shining Spears 140
-Exarch
--Star Lance
--Monster Hunter
--Hit and Run

(3x) 6 Windriders 366
--(2x) Shuriken Cannons

10 Guardian Defenders 240
-Shuriken Cannon
-Wave Serpent
--TL Scatter Lasers
--Holo-fields

6 Warp Spiders 114

2 War Walkers 140
-(2x) 2x Scatter Laser

(2x) Wraithlord 320
-(2x) 2x Bright Lance

This army is primarily a biker army, so I don't want to cut the Autarch or the spears. I think, given that, I'm running pretty efficiently. I've got anti-light/medium/heavy vehicles, slight psychic defense, anti-MCs, some AA, and anti-infantry. Also, I love the Wraithlord model, so I'd love to include one, and I've always felt if you take one Wraithlord, you need two. Taking three was a way to lose friends back in 3rd edition however...

Looks good, though i would make a few changes.

1) drop the serpent, with it being the only one it will eat every AT weapon out there.

2) with No.1 being followed you can take warlocks for the bike squads, you will need to drop the warlock on foot though, this will give you enough leftover points for a BL platform upgrades from SC.

That's it! Good luck!

I like 'em both! I have not seen people running Shining Spears very often, but in a bike-centric list like yours I can see it being pretty good for additional pressure.

In the 1500pt list, I might switch the weapons on the war-walkers and WLs to have a scatter laser and BL each (loves me some TL-BL from Laser Lock), but that is personal preference. Some people are 100% against 'generalist' loadouts, but I like the tactical flexibility!

But that is a small preference issue. Other than that, it looks fun!

For the 1000 point list, it's my only real AA and a whole lot of my firepower. It also allows my Guardians the same speed and maneuverability as the rest of my army. I just don't think I can drop it.

But more and more I think you're right about the 1500 point list. I like the extra AA, and any anti-tank shots it takes aren't going into my Wraithlords, but I really like those warlocks. I've also thought about dropping the Guardians as well and adding a Warlock council with a Spiritseer for more dice and the better chance to buff/heal my Wraithlords.

KillerWabbit wrote:
I like 'em both! They are, however, a nice compliment to the Shard-tarch and better than they've ever been; with the Monster Hunter Exarch upgrade, the unit is crazy good at killing MCs and FMCs

I'll probably play around with that load-out on my War Walkers at some point (I've fully magnetized one of them, I've yet to purchase the other)

Ok with reading the 7th ed rulebook, I highly suggest dropping the shardtarch for a farseer with shard on bike and runes, you can also drop the warlock who goes with guardians for extra points. Reason being is farseer will give you better disspell which the warlock won't help much with. And in the end his powers are better then the autarchs attacks.
