And even with vehicles there are some vehicles it works. Anything with base already fine. My DDA's are now with magnets. I even put one on triarch stalker as 15cm round fits pretty snuggly. That said, the first thing you should do is enlarge the mounting hole if it uses the flight peg with a little pin/nubbin (use a 3mm drill bit. It will sit 3-5mm lower on the peg, be more sturdy, and the entire mass of the vehicle won't be supported purely on 1mm3 of plastic (which WILL shear).

I’d put a magnet between the boat and the stand too.
