I'd be happy to do some light conversion but what armies do people suggest using to represent Lizardmen.
Thanks for any help
Blofeld

Re:Lizardmen in 40k

The first thing that jumps to mind is "Counts as Orks" but better still would be "Counts as Kroot." -years ago GW released a Kroot Mercenaries army list that contained variants of Kroot. iIt was great and made for a very interesting and unique army. The greater variety of lizardmen models could be readily used to represent the different varieties of Kroot. Although that list has faded into obscurity a long time ago, a lot of players have written up to date versions of it which you'll easily find on google.

I presume you are looking for advice on a codex to use. I think "Counts As Orks" could be the way to go.

The Skinks are like Grots. The Temple Guard and other big Lizard Men are like standard Orks. The Priests and Wizards can be used as Weirdboyz, Dokks, and so on. The dinosaurs can be "tamed" (i.e. looted vehicles.)

You just need to get a ton of ideally plastic modern weapons to replace all the obsidian spears.

To the people saying Eldar Exodites, keep in mind the op probably wants to use all of the models in the set and not just the Carnosaur and Cold Ones. Playing Exodites would mean not using any of the infantry in the kit, so I'm guessing space lizards in more what they have in mind, which is perfectly fluff justifiable as there are millions of xenos races out there. Something to keep in mind is if you plan on playing 30k, the Imperialis Cults and Militia army list would be really nice as it's very customisable due to the different provinences you can take and the variety of ways you can equipment units

Lizardmen in 40k

Where'd your imagination go to die?

On the other hand, I see his point. Saurus are beefy looking in a way totally at odds with the Eldar stat-line. The lizardman roster has so little in common with Eldar when compared to say, Feral Orcs.

An Ork and a Sarus share a good toughness, low initiative and good strength (when on the charge, at least). Skinks have similarities to Grots. Stegadon = Squiggoth or Battlewagon. Bastiladon = Looted Wagon. Cold Ones could = Warbikes far better then Jetbikes. And for that lovely Carnosaur, he could simply be used as a Warboss on Warbike. Not particularly grand, but probably deserving of the T6 he gets.

Tlr Orks.
