<![CDATA[Latest posts for the thread "[1850] - Dark Angels - Scouting Lion's Blade"]]> http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/14.page JForum - http://www.jforum.net [1850] - Dark Angels - Scouting Lion's Blade WS ICs to other factions rhino's to give whole armies scout and one of the more amusing ones I found is that you can make a reasonably competitive Dark Angel's Lions Blade Strikeforce and give up to 7 of it's free rhino's scout. I chose to go for 5 here having everything else in pods to save points for upgrades, but yeah, pretty neat.

Basically how it works is Khan makes all whitescars models have scout when embarked on rhinos/razorbacks, since only 1 model needs to have scout for the unit to scout, WS ICs grant scout to any rhino/razorback, even DA, BA, SW, or SOB ones as per RAW. So take a CAD with Khan, make him your warlord, Then a libcon, put each of the ICs in a different rhino and voila! you have up to 7 scouting transports. Yeah, the Libcon gets harder to use, but it''s more supposed to be amusing than SUPER competitive. Here's my list, let me know what you think, and also if it works.

They both have assault marines in them. First line under the where it says 'battle demi company' there's a line that say Assault Squad 2xFlamer. at any rate i think the list is alright in some places but largely its really meh, your basically just stuffing a whole bunch of extra magic and a couple of scouts into a lions blade double company in an effeort to somehow compensate for the fact that your ranged shooting is really range limited, your basically driving up to someone with everything and every gun that isnt a single lascannon has to drive up at the enemy, you have some random dudes in pods to help offset this but i wouldnt view them as a threat because there are so few of them to worry about.

a smart player will ignore your pods, blast your rhinos to pieces leaving nothing behind, your grav cannons spend the rest of the game walking up a table and your melta marines die the death of any marine that drop pods in.

So you put the independent characters into rhinos. They are embarked on rhinos. They get scout. They confer scout to the unit to which they are attached. The unit confers it to the transport. They don't lost the chapter tactic because Dark Angels don't negate CTs like other vanilla marines do. And to the other poster, Yeah it's not super competitive. Infact I would argue that it's just dumbing down a normal White Scars gladius, but gosh wouldn't it be funny to go up against someone and have a Lion's blade scout forward like they forgot what army they were.
