				<description><![CDATA[ Heyo<br /> <br /> I emailed <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(39);'>FW</span> about DFS (Discount Free Sofas) and they said, in effect 'no worries, we're working on it. For now come up with some house rules for your group' so here's my first draft for stuff I know is missing from Aeronautica. <br /> <br /> I'm using the basic flyer per-race or nearest equivalent with modifiers:<br /> <br /> supersonic = +2 pursuit <br /> vector dancer = +1 agility + 1 pursuit<br /> agile = + 1 agility<br /> <br /> and some common sense.<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(136);'>USR</span><br /> <br /> Flare Storm<br /> Once per game, all flyers in a flyer wing or detachment may expend their remaining flares. Until their next movement phase, they have a 4+ invulnerable save against shooting attacks.<br /> <br /> Flight of heroes<br /> if a unit is within 18 inches of 3 or more models with the Distinctive Paint Scheme or Markings wargear, it  improves it's leadership characteristic by 2 to a maximum of 10.<br /> <br /> <i>Generic Formations</i><br /> <br /> <b>Attack Flight</b><br /> 2-4 attack flyers of any type<br /> <br /> <i>Shock assault</i><br /> On the turn in which this formation first arrives from reserve, armour and cover save attributes against shooting attacks from models in the formation are modified to be 1 point worse (2+ save becomes 3+ save etc). This modifier is not cumulative with itself.<br /> <br /> <b>Escort flight</b><br /> 1 bomber or other flyer with Transport capability of any type<br /> 1-3 fighters of any type<br /> <br /> <i>Fighter Screen</i><br /> When an enemy flyer causes a glancing or penetrating hit on a model in this formation, roll a dice. on a 3+ the hit instead affects the nearest Fighter from the formation within 12".<br /> <br /> <b>Fighter Wing</b><br /> 2-4 Fighters of any type<br /> <br /> <i>Apex of Victory</i><br /> If within 18" of 2 or more models from this formation, enemy flyers reduce their pursuit and agility characteristics by 1<br /> <br /> <b>Bomber Flight</b><br /> 2-4 Bombers<br /> <br /> <i>Coordinated drop</i><br /> If 2 or more bombers from this formation drop bombs on the same unit, each bomb is resolved as one size larger than normal (small blast becomes large blast, large blast becomes massive blast etc)<br /> <br /> <b>Imperial Navy</b><br /> <br /> Thunderbolt Fighter<br /> Fighter - P4 - A3 - 1-4 models/squadron<br /> <br /> It's supposed to be the general purpose fighter made of spare guardsman armour<br /> <br /> Lightning<br /> Fighter - P4 - A4 - 1-4 models/squadron<br /> <br /> It's a supersonic Agile fighter, made of paper<br /> <br /> Vulture Gunship<br /> Attack Flyer - P2 - A4 - 1-4 models/squadron<br /> <br /> It's a more nimble Valkyrie with a huge engine<br /> <br /> Aquila Lander<br /> Attack Flyer/Fighter - P2 - A3 - 1-4 models/squadron<br /> <br /> Nobody uses these, so it should be able to switch roles as needed to make it borderline useful<br /> <br /> Valkyrie Sky Talon<br /> Attack Flyer - P1/2 - A3/4 - 1-4 models/squadron (transport)<br /> <br /> It's an overloaded Valkyrie, the first profile being used when carrying a vehicle<br /> <br /> Marauder Bomber<br /> Bomber - P1 - A2 - Single<br /> <br /> It's a HUJE bomber. The two heavy Bolter turrets may choose to gain Skyfire before resolving a shooting attack.<br /> <br /> Marauder Destroyer<br /> Attack Flyer - P1 - A2 - Single<br /> <br /> It's a close air support missile boat. The heavy Bolter turrets may choose to gain Skyfire before resolving a shooting attack.<br /> <br /> Arvus Lighter<br /> Attack Flyer - P1 - A1 - 1-4 models/squadron<br /> <br /> I have nothing to say about this.<br /> <br /> Avenger Strike Fighter<br /> Attack Flyer - P3 - A3 - 1-4 models/squadron<br /> <br /> It's a supersonic A-10 expy<br /> <br /> <b>Space Marines</b><br /> <br /> Storm Eagle Assault Gunship<br /> Attack Flyer - P2 - A2 - May replace any storm raven in any formation,  gaining any benefits the storm raven would receive<br /> <br /> It's an even bigger/heavier Storm raven using the same engines<br /> <br /> Caestus Assault Ram<br /> Attack Flyer - P5 - A2 - May replace 1 storm raven in any formation, but does not gain any benefits.<br /> <br /> It's a supersonic storm raven with less fancy equipment  (it would shake loose)<br /> <br /> Thunderhawk Gunship<br /> Attack Flyer - P3 - A2 - (Transport) May replace 1 storm raven in any formation, gaining any benefits the storm raven would receive<br /> <br /> It's 3 storm ravens glued together<br /> <br /> Thunderhawk Transporter<br /> Attack Flyer - P3/4 - A2/3 - Single<br /> <br /> t's all the engines of the Thunderhawk with less weight. 				<description><![CDATA[ Why on earth did you make the Phoenix BOMBER a Fighter instead of a Bomber? At best you could get away with it being an Attack Fighter but straight up Fighter, no. Also I don't think swapping out Hemlock Wraithfighters for Nightwings is a good idea, keep it like for like so it can replace only Crimson Hunters.]]></description>

If thats the case then yes, have it possible to switch the Nightwing for either but otherwise just leave it to swap for the Crimson Hunter.]]></description>

Heck, that would be tempting enough to get a 3rd! The flame template might just outclass the blast in many situations, being able to just plant so many ignore cover wounds on stuff. ]]></description>

Hence put them in a fortitude formation and get (from memory) 16 flying autocannon shots for some 500 pts. In the era of Grav, that's barely worth thinking twice about.<br /> <br /> ]]></description>

If that were not the case then the Lightning would be able to take on a Hemlock on equal terms (as it's got the same attributes as a hell talon), which doesn't make sense however you cut it. Plus if you consider that the best initative a (non augment) 'human' model in the game has is 4, and that is itself quite rare, basic initiative  of eldar is 'a lot more than 4'  would be represented in the reaction speed of the pilot, hence A5 where it happens.<br /> <br /> Now if you want to give your hell-Xs a mark of Slaanesh for, say +25 pts respectively to gain P5/A5, that would make good sense.
