1. Is there still a respectable way to run flying circus in 7th? I'm not just looking for a fun army, I want it to be something I can take to bigger tournaments if I get good with it. Doesn't have to be the best, but I wanna stand a chance lol.

2. If it's not, is there any army where I can build something co,petitive that focuses around big monsters? That's really what I want and why I wanted flying circus, is because I want to play something that focuses mainly on big boss monsters. Not really tanks or mechs, I'd prefer living breathing monsters. Tyranids seem like theyd be a good alternative. Is there a big monster build that works better for them?

3. If it's just not possible to play a big monster list, where should I start building with daemons? Like what are some key units I'd need to get an army started?

In terms of fliers you are probably better off with flying monsters(specifically shooting/casting) rather than airplanes. Airplanes aren't all that hot anymore. However tyranids have the flying tyrant which is pretty nasty(nasty enough many tournament lists feature trio of those with minimal troop choices as allies. Despite being come the apocalypse allies).

Of course rest of tyranid army is pretty average at best so you would be basically running on those flying tyrants. the best monsters are probly knights with baby carriage, the new knights and all their variants or eldar wraith knight. If you want to go a different route with daemons you can always run Fateweaver, a Tzeentch DP, Be'Lakor, and a D-Thirster.

I've recently run the Tetrad with a couple tzeentch heralds and some pink horrors for 20+ warp charge dice for summoning and it's been great. Last time I played I brought in 2 squads of flesh hounds, two bloodthirsters, and a squad of plague drones in 4 turns. Having 6 FMCs running around is pretty cool.

Most "flying circus" lists focus more on getting your monsters into combat nowadays as opposed to swooping around and contesting objectives like 6th edition.
