What is the tone you are looking for? What I would go with is army painter in whatever color you're needing. But I get that Army painter can be cheap. Krylon is my go to for primer, but I'm concerned because I used their green spray paint with gloss and it's a pain to paint over. I'm just looking for standard flesh (European descent, I guess? The normal Imperial Guard flesh).
