Simply because they give buffs to your chosen and cultists, and make chosen quite good.

Additionally, the alpha legion scheme is a lot of fun to paint.

Alpha Legion is really fun to paint, so that's good to hear. i'd rather stay away from conversions, as they take up a bunch of time. Odds are i'll be selling the army after I've had my fill.
