I recently finished painting 3500 points of Imperial Fists, and I'm looking for my next project. I'm torn between Dark Angels Lion Blade (name?) or A Chaos Space marines army with a bunch of chosen and cultists. I have a majority of the models already and am about $150 from having 2000 points of either army. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks!

Well, if you like cultists and chosen then the alpha legion is your best bet.

Simply because they give buffs to your chosen and cultists, and make chosen quite good.

Additionally, the alpha legion scheme is a lot of fun to paint.

The DA lions blade is a bit less interesting (at least for me), simply because its all one colour with little room for variation.

Alpha Legion is really fun to paint, so that's good to hear. Dark Angels can get boring, but I could have the entire army painted in about 2 weeks, supah easy

Oh wow, that is some skill that I envy sir!

It really comes down to scheme preferences.

how much do you like conversions?

i'd rather stay away from conversions, as they take up a bunch of time. Odds are i'll be selling the army after I've had my fill. Usually a month of two

That's fair, I recommend Dark Angels then, simply because it is easier to make them look cool without conversions as compared to chaos.
