[1850] - Deathwatch with Imperial Knights allies

I'm still trying to get a handle on how best to use Deathwatch, so here goes my first list. Seems like DW works best with allies. I'm going the MSU route.

I welcome any comments or advice on how to improve the list!

Here we go:

DEATHWATCH / IMPERIAL KNIGHTS ARMY [1850]

DEATHWATCH CAD [1435]

-HQ-
LIBRARIAN [70]

-TROOP- [220]
VETERANS X5
FRAG CANNON X3
DROP POD

-TROOP- [220]
VETERANS X5
FRAG CANNON X3
DROP POD

-TROOP- [220]
VETERANS X5
FRAG CANNON X3
DROP POD

-TROOP- [220]
VETERANS X5
FRAG CANNON X3
DROP POD

-TROOP- [145]
VETERANS X5
DEATHWATCH SHOTGUN X 5
DROP POD

-TROOP- [145]
VETERANS X5
DEATHWATCH SHOTGUN X 5
DROP POD

-ELITE- [65]
TERMINATORS X1
CYCLONE MISSILE LAUNCHER X1

-ELITE- [65]
TERMINATORS X1
CYCLONE MISSILE LAUNCHER X1

-ELITE- [65]
TERMINATORS X1
CYCLONE MISSILE LAUNCHER X1

OATHSWORN DETACHMENT [415]

KNIGHT WARDEN [415]
STORMSPEAR ROCKET POD

Well that's it. What do you think Dakka? Is it even remotely competitive or just a glass cannon that will be swept from the table?

Any way to improve it?

Thanks!

Are you using the Terminators as Objective grabbers?

I would actually take a few 10 man squads and then Combat Squad them when they hit the ground. You will get more value from your pods that ways and also make use of the Combat Squad and the Drop Pod Assault Rules.

Some empty Pods are good for getting more full Pods down turn 1 as well.

Thanks for the suggestion!

For your units listed as "5 shotguns" you do realize that each veteran gets his bolter AND a shotgun right?

You trade the Bolter in for the Shotgun (check the book its legit...) and THEN trade the cc weapon you come stalk with for a bolter. Basically you end up with both a bolter and a shotgun. You don't need the cc weapon since it does nothing and you have no pistol. This gives each vet effectively 7 types of ammo lol

I just mix some with bolters and some withshot guns. You don't model bolt pistols on every marine who has them so personally I don't think It should matter. I just tell my opponent that shotgun/bolter guys have both. Never had an issue at a tournament with it.

It is actually quite easy to chop a close combat weapon off and attach a Bolter. The arm is actually the perfect shape.

The Bolter arms are already modeled 1 handed so that works out as well.
