I have been painting for several years and have started a commission painting service based in Atlantic Canada. I am willing to do a wide variety of work. Board game miniatures have been my focus thus far and I've done 3-d printed terrain, GW models and terrain, and Reaper models, both plastic and metal. Commissions are relatively new but I would treat your models like my own.

1- try to get some completed armies up, these show consistency of your work.
2- completed forces in the "textbook" colour schemes give potential clients a way to "benchmark the quality you're offering. eg: an Ultramarine Tactical Squad show cases the comparative level.
3- Get some variety in there next, so try not to stick to Space Marines or Elves as this suggests to people that that's ALL you do.
4- Only post finished works, unfinished work looks sloppy and detracts from your portfolio.
5- Paint some real "centre-piece" miniatures with lots of different surfaces, these can be great examples of the different techniques you're capable of.

Once you've painted things for your portfolio, there's nothing to stop you selling them on ebay, and for a decent standard you should at least recoup the cost of the model.

I concur with rik above, you need to post examples of finished work of different types, with a higher standard of photography first. establish a larger base of followers, get your likes up and this will get your work more visible on the feeds of other modellers.
