Big Meks can be upgraded to Big Meks in Mega Armour if you so wish. There should be stuff in there for you to put a Kustom Force Field or Tellyport Blasta.

Or you could just build 3 Mega Nobz.

They don't have to run with a Big Mek, just bare in mind Mega Nobz minimum unit size is 3 so if you made a Big Mek in Mega Armour you wouldnt be allowed to run just two MegaNobz in a squad.

Meganobz are 3 - 10 in a unit, so you need at least 3 of them. The Big Mek in Mega Armour is separate, so if you build him you need another box of Meganobz for a valid unit (or make one a Warboss in Mega Armour (but that's now a Legends option) and have one spare)..

Ork mega nobs set - help

I guess the idea was that you get two boxes of MANz and build one big mek and five MANz.
If you just have one box, skip the big mek, it's not a stellar unit anyways.

As for kombi weapon, you have three options:
1) a kustom shoota just shoots four times, no downside. Not the best gun in the game, but cheap
2) a kombi-rokkit. You could shoot both with a -1 penalty, but that's just a terrible idea with BS5+. Instead, think of it as a rokkit that gets two extra shoota shots when firing overwatch. It's actually a decent option if you have the points to spare.
3) a kombi-skorcha. When shooting both profiles, the skorcha still auto-hits so, you basically get two additional shoota shots at BS6. However, MANz are quite slow and you can't fire a skorcha after tellyporting in, not to mention it's the most expensive option. Right now, you should pick one of the other options.

An important thing to note - don't glue the hands. Once primed, you can switch freely between saws and klaw/shoota loadout and they will hold in place without any help.
