If A Blood Angel Turned To Chaos, Would They Still Keep Their Primarch’s Gene-Curse?

Question is in the title, I’m really curious about this. Due to the nature of chaos, would they enter the black rage near immediately? Or would Warp Corruption potentially alter their genes in a way that circumvents it? I’m very curious!

If the Rage triggers, it's over for anyone around that Astartes.

If you can get a hold of Deathstorm it shows a really good example of the Black Rage. The Death Company still remember their names and that they are Blood Angels but think they are at the Siege of Terra fighting the hordes of the Warmaster. In the book they're on a world being invaded by Tyranids and their minds justify the Xenos as daemons, mutants or corrupted Astartes. They recognise their fellow Blood Angels but keep asking for them to follow Sanguinius in the strike on the Vengeful Spirit.

Being surrounded by troops wearing the marks of Chaos would just result in a very quick friendly fire incident before the ex-Angel is taken down.

Except as has been noted, its only those of Sanguinius's lineage that are ever noticed as brothers by those in the throes of the Rage.

Imperial aligned soldiers don't get a pass because they are Ultramarines, Cadians or Martyred Lady. They die because they aren't Sons of Sanguinius and are clearly minions of the Warmaster. In the most severe state, every enemy is Horus himself and in the throes of the Rage, everything is an enemy.

If a member of the Death Company survives a battle, they're given the Emperor's Peace because they can't be relied on to not kill their brothers as well.

The Black Rage is basically a hallucination combined with the Marine having his mind taken over by echos of Sanguinious. Anything hostile that he sees is going to look like the Traitors during the siege of Terra. Chaos could easily just guide those hallucinations the way they want.

Such a Marine is probably going to kill both chaos and loyalists since Chaos probably won't be able to make chaos marines look like fellow Blood Angels, but it can probably make the Marine kill former comrades.

The Blood Angel Omnibus does kinda have this happen.
