December 2018 but still 2018. I ordered on the final day and I still received a massive box of metal within 3 weeks. Most figures are about an ounce of white metal, and that costs about $3.50 per ounce. I'm sure there are some other reasons why it costs so much, but 95 dollars? It varies greatly, with the TOW Empire MTO there was someone on Reddit who got his 40+ metal halberdiers within weeks.

GW sets their prices by what people will pay, 40k has a much bigger community means more whales means they can pull more money out of people.

Steel Legion have been my dream Imperial Guard army for many years now and I was genuinely prepared to drop entire paychecks in order to get myself a platoon or twos worth. In the last MtO, weapon teams were expensive and single models obscene. Squad was okay and the platoon (back then with the casualties) even a bit cheaper than the (identical) release box!
