				<description><![CDATA[ Hey folks,<br /> <br /> I haven't posted in a while, but you might remember my army from the forums or from the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span> site (<a href="http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/blogPost.jsp?aId=19700003a" target="_new" rel="nofollow">http://www.games-workshop.com/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>gws</span>/content/blogPost.jsp?aId=19700003a</a>).<br /> <br /> I'm not happy with my current list as it's proving to be fairly ineffective in the current edition (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(308);'>MSU</span> just isn't what it used to be).<br /> <br /> I always ran a counts-as Vulkan/Salamanders list in the past, but I think it's time for a change. I'm open to ideas using any codex really, aside from Chaos. I was thinking <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(124);'>SW</span> might be a good fit as they are able to accommodate some of the more fluffier considerations.<br /> <br /> Here are the fluff elements I'm keeping in mind:<br /> <br /> 1. Terminator sergeants leading <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> squads (wolfguard are great for this)<br /> 2. Ven. Dread <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQs</span> (Bjorn? though I'm worried about his survivability in this edition)<br /> 3. Few full terminator squads (this fluff annoys me, but whatever)<br /> 4. Few dreadnoughts (this also seems unfluffy since <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(445);'>IH</span> love bionics and hate their human flesh...many see serving as a dreadnought as their ultimate goal in life)<br /> 5. Machine-like behavior (relentless, grinding advance regardless of casualties)<br /> 6. Extensive bionics and mechanical augmentations (acute senses? too bad they got rid of the old bionic rules)<br /> 7. Iron Fathers (I've given up on this one since no army has a character who comes close to combining the roles of techmarines and chaplains, aside from maybe Cassius and his bionics)<br /> <br /> Any ideas? Here are my current models, but I am open to getting new ones/trying out new ideas.<br /> <br /> 1 counts-as Vulkan<br /> 1 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(384);'>MOTF</span> with servo harness, combimelta, and thunder hammer<br /> 2 squads of 5 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(224);'>th</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(221);'>ss</span> terminators<br /> 2 squads of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> marines - variable special/heavy weapon loadouts. Sergeants have power fist/ combiflamer<br /> 5 combimelta sternguard with power fist/combimelta sergeant<br /> 3 heavy flamer/multimelta speeders<br /> 1 land speeder typhoon with variable loadouts<br /> 2 vindicators with hunter killers and rams<br /> 2 las/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(166);'>plas</span> razorbacks<br /> 2 land raider redeemers/crusaders (magnetized weapons)<br /> 3 dreadnoughts with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>cc</span> weapon/heavy flamer and multimeltas (I can do variable loadouts with these, too)<br /> 1 venerable dreadnought (variable loadouts)<br /> 1 devastator squad with 4 missile launchers<br /> 3 dreadnought drop pods<br /> 3 infantry drop pods<br /> <br /> Ok, that's it! Let me hear what you all think.<br /> <br /> -K<br /> <br /> <br /> Had an idea using Blood Angels, check it out.<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>: Captain in Terminator Armour (x1)<br /> <br /> Elite: <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(224);'>TH</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(221);'>SS</span> Warlord<br /> Terminator Assault Squad (x6)<br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(224);'>TH</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(221);'>SS</span><br /> Land Raider Crusader<br /> Multi-melta<br /> <br /> Elite: Sanguinary Priest (x3) power axe terminator armor<br /> <br /> Troops:<br /> Tactical Squad (x2)<br /> Flamer; Missile Launcher<br /> Sergeant<br /> Melta Bombs, Plasma Pistol, Power Axe<br /> <br /> Heavy Support: Vindicator (x2)<br /> <br /> Heavy Support: Devastator Squad (1)<br /> Missile Launcher (x4)<br /> Sergeant<br /> Melta Bombs<br /> <br /> Aegis Defense Line(x1)<br /> Quad Gun<br /> <br /> It's pretty weird, I'll admit.<br /> <br /> The sanguinary priests act as terminator veteran heroes- they join the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> squads and terminator squad and inspire them with their presence (furious charge, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(265);'>fnp</span>).<br /> <br /> The Captain leads the terminators and sanguinary priest from within the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(261);'>LRC</span>. I don't know about deep striking the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(261);'>LRC</span>, I was never quite comfortable with that....<br /> <br /> The <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> squads slog it.<br /> <br /> The <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(29);'>devs</span> hide behind the aegis and provide fire support - the squad sergeant mans the quad gun.<br /> <br /> The vindicators throw out some pie plates to deal with hordes and high toughness troops/terminators. They, of course, can also blast vehicles with the new blast rules.<br /> <br /> Feedback welcome!]]></description>

I really hated that style as all my dreads would get popped first turn.<br /> <br /> Also, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(445);'>IH</span> rarely use dreads (fluff consideration) so 6 dreads seems out of the question.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Since you already have Dreadnought drop-pods from <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(39);'>FW</span>, you could get Valthex, he's basically a better <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(384);'>MotF</span>.  Also he allows 1 infantry unit equipped with bolter, storm-bolter or bolt-pistol to be upgraded with hellfire rounds; absolutely devastating with a full squad of tactical Termies (add Lysander for pure sickness).<br /> <br /> This way it would also stay fluffy.]]></description>

(to protect the tact)<br /> -another <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(29);'>dev</span> squad and/or <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(420);'>TFC</span>?<br /> <br /> The world is your oyster!<br /> <br /> Cheers!
