I don't own any fantasy models to show them on, best I can give you is this from the internet...
If Cadian heads are sized to work, than mine should do fine as well.
So these are intended for one more flavor of guard conversions or something? Unfortunately, I don't own any IG, so we seem to be at an impasse! I'll just have to wait until some kind soul with some fantasy miniatures can post a scale shot.
Do these have some sort of tech element (a comm headset or something)? Or would they pass as fantasy?
Thank you for your patience.

You are correct, they are designed for a feudal world regiment. There are no tech elements at all, except for the officer heads.

I have some old-school metal Commissars;
Originally when these were cast, some were produced with both arms, some with one arm, and some with no arms.
Citadel Miniatures produced a Human Clothed Arms Sprue:
However these have a pouch on the rounded shoulder and are clearly meant as a BDU, or a Battle Dress Uniform for a Guardsman.
I started looking for alternate arms for the Commissars, hopefully with details such as epaulettes.
In my first-ever order from the great people at Mad Robot Miniatures, I purchased your HA-0701 Imperial Officer Arms and HA-0201 Greatcoat Officer Arms:
Here are my metal Commissars being converted, Work-In-Progress:

The second uses bits from two of your products; first off, the left-hand chainsword from HA-0701 Imperial Officer Arms and right-hand Power Fist from HCOM-07 Commissar Arms:

A great look. Makes me think of those heavy breastplates sometimes used by machinegunners in WW1, which I suspect was among your inspirations for the bits in the first place?
@Private Benjamin
The arms are a good fit, but I think you should probably shorten them a bit. Those old GW models are stockier and more "heroic scale" than Mad Robot's stuff and the arms look very long on those bodies.

No, not currently. For fists or for holding something?
45341
Post by: Dr Mathias
Nope, just plain hands in a fist, or hands pointing. I'm trying to avoid the 'hand weapon in one hand, pistol in the other' trope on some figures I'm working on.
Maybe I saw them on a plastic set. I thought it was you though since you produce so many useful arm/hand/weapon sprues.
On another note the feudal soldiers look great.

Mad robot are brilliant company who make great stuff and I wish they were closer so I wouldn’t have to have up until I needed a big order to make it worth while with the shipping. Well, everyone is entitled his opinion but, I fail to see the "little better than a recaster" issue on this one.
As an owner of multiples of ALL Leman Russes variants (and I include the FW ones),
I welcome these tanks.
These tanks are Mad Robots original designs.
You may like which I do, or not the said design, but these are original work[u].
3 modulable tanks with elements from WWII german tanks and
weapon options to make them playable as GW Leman Russes.
Engineering such kits take months of work, making renders, precasting prototypes, making modification etc...
before even starting casting one final kit. Far, far away from just recasting something else work.
So please credit where credit is due, and keep the discussion on informed basis.

The Galahad looks stunning, and a much more believable design for a battle tank. No idea what the numpty was on about, not even remotely close in design to a Russ.

Well, MAN SE might have some words in regards to how original of a design it is... Those words would not have any force of law behind them though and even if they did there's obviously enough to make it a distinct derivative work from the original. GW would have zero though, given that other than the broad strokes of "It's got a turret and a hull-mounted gun and the option for side guns" there's not much design similarity.
Very tempted by it given that there's always a use for tanks, but knowing that I want to pick up a number of fairly expensive kits in the near future (Chaos Knights, SoB, etc.) makes me a bit hesitant. Really cool design though, so it may win out in the end.

I know it's a big thing, but honestly I hope you don't cave in to them, they're clearly overstepping the bounds of what was already established as reasonable in the Chapterhouse case.
Both are evidently derived from historical designs, which should really disqualify any claim over yours on the face of it, but on top of that there are clear differences in detail between them like the shape of the helmet and the style of the crest.
They shouldn't be allowed to go back to their old bullying ways where they use threats and intimidation to achieve results that they have no legal right to.

I agree entirely, but the issue is that lawyers are expensive...

Post by: mad robot
To be honest, they aren't really bullying me.
They are concerned about a few specific design elements and whether they infringe on their protected IP..
We are having a discussion about them currently so I'll leave it at that.
47181
Post by: Yodhrin
Contacting small companies with "concerns" when there's obviously an implicit threat that failing to address their "concerns" will have legal & financial consequences seems like bullying to me, but if you feel otherwise that's that given it's you that has to deal with them.
I hope the situation is resolved fairly.

In the long game, it's not fair. If they change their tone and start making demands, I will probably have to comply for fear of legal action. I agree, that part doesn't feel fair.

Of all the things I've seen for sale by various companies lately, those gasmask heads seem pretty harmless!
Given the whole chapterhouse debacle you should be fine whatever happens considering both designs have a historical basis. No harm in just removing a double headed eagle or tweaking the design if it saves you a massive headache though.

Happy to announce the release of our new tank kit...the Galahad. Currently, we only have the Galahad and Striker turret variants available as the Fireball is being re-modeled to improve the kit. That variant will be available in another month or so.
We will strive to keep regular stock of these on hand, if they happen to be out, we will order more so the wait will hopefully not be too long.
Details and such can be found at the website.

i'd imagine it's because he'd have to collect VAt for the orders (under £136) now and pass the money onto the UK govt, it's a new system that's come in since January, and is going to be coming in for the EU in june (or is that July) as they delayed the change due to covid, but we couldn't an option would be to run a ebay/etsy store for UK/EU buyers as the platforms will deal with that for Mad Robot as some other small providers are doing, although they'd have to put the prices up to account for the extra fees (depends on how much trade they're going to loose because of it)

I read a novel years ago where some British guy is musing on the M-16 and how leave it to the Americans to make an assault rifle with a handle on it like a suitcase.

Mad Robot Miniatures is using Kickstarter to fund its new regiment, the Dirty Dogs of Sarlok-7. I'll be selling copies of the digital files to raise all the preproduction costs. All sculpts will be complete before the campaign starts and I'll be offering supported and un-supported versions of the STLs.

What a gak job the guy bracing the SAW has. Lemme just blow out your eardrum and wreak your shoulder while i'm at it.
Really liking the look of these. If the price is right, I'll likely back it.

And with being able to mirror the prints you really get 6 rider legs. Though the middle one might be hard to see much of a difference.
Edit. E slight flaw with mirroring these guys is the centerline of the jacket. You’d have to mirror the chests as well, and the. Some will have left over right flaps and some would be right over left flaps. But given how huge the Imperium is, I’m sure different worlds had different dressing styles which carried us ver into military appareal. Also the quartermaster might be a little more lax as he just needs the equipment.

Today we have the final offering of the upcoming Dirty Dogs of Sarlok-7 release.
The Dirty Dogs are a penal regiment and have a nasty reputation of battlefield scavenging. They are, indeed, Dirty Dogs...

Awesome. The Dirty Dogs are shaping up to be bloody excellent.
Just as an aside, any chance of seeing tank rider legs for other regiments at some point?

Ah fantastic.
I thought it was only the one style shown on the thumbnail. I didn't actually click on them.

Love it.
I hadn't noticed the "Missing" leg of the machine gunner guy acting as a tripod. I know it's there with heavy shadow effect on it, but it just looks appropriate for a warrior who is that tough .
