Well after a long wait, we finally have the Upgrade Kit for our Battlesnap Barricade System available for pre-order! The Battlesnap Barricade was already an incredibly flexible set, now it's even more flexible with options to upgrade Straight sections, Corners and Heavy Weapon Towers to a more armoured barricade complete with second - level walkway to ensure your troops' complete safety and absolute annihilation of any attacking enemies!
Each upgrade part is easily detachable in no more than 2 actions, giving you total choice between regular or upgraded barricades for each game, introduce rules for destructible terrain in your games, or mix and match regular and upgraded parts. European gamers who collect Tabletop Insider will be able to see a perfect example of this in the current issue 08, where our terrain is used in a battle report between Necrons and Imperial Guard. To give an idea of how big the Fortress set is, it's basically the only piece of terrain on the board! We will try and post pictures in this thread if we can get them from the guys at TTI.
Our Battlesnap Barricade System can be arranged in a huge variety of ways, and can be split up to cover large amounts of a gaming table. Further expansion sets can be added further down the line to give you even more layout options, simply adding an extra Gate kit to a Fortress gives you enough parts to have a large outpost either end of a table for a brutal battle for no man's land Our local gaming club has been spreading a Fortress kit over multiple tables, and find it works very well for Infinity as well as WH40K. Since I've been playing a lot of Infinity, I can vouch for that!
We have a few pre-order special offers available, check them out HERE!
Anyone who has seen one of our Barricade kits in the flesh will realise how big they are, (especially the Gatehouse!) but if you haven't seen them then we will be attending Bovington Wargames Show, Colours at Newbury and Warfare at Reading later this year
Thanks to everyone who has supported us this past year, especially those who kept poking us about finally releasing this kit! Now we have a fortnight of printing labels and instructions and sticking stuff in boxes to look forward to! Our Elevated Roads and sci-fi Noodle Bar will be released next, hopefully within the next month!
But that would require effort! I mean, no more effort than it would take to write that exact post but you know.
Yeah, effort- as in Links don't work, and I can't get to the site from where I'm at. You might have read that if you wern't trying to be the clever runner up to smart guy number 1.
Am I the only one thinking this would have been perfect for the now defunct Starship troopers game?
Have to say though a very reasonable price for that much stuff!
And I didn't want to say it, for fear of sounding like a spoilt brat ("but I didn't want the kitten, I wanted a puppy! ") but I can't wait for the noodle bar also!

...and the elevated roads!!!
We're on a massive painting spree right now getting everything ready for photographing, the noodle bar just needs the instructions finishing off and the roads need instructions starting, but the data for both is good to go. We also have a couple of variant acrylic parts for the noodle bar which we'll post here when we've got a couple more painted up. The current plan is to have the Noodle bar and roads up for pre-order at the start of July
Casey's Law wrote:...and the large modular complex!
The complex is temporarily on hold for the moment but will be returned to once our current batch of products are done. We also have a slightly different more city-themed modular facility in the works which will be ready around the same time. I would like to think they'd both be released in about 3 months or so, time allowing.
Ifurita wrote:That is very nice work you've produced and quite affordable. Do you distribute in the US yet?
Not yet, though we do sell direct to everywhere. We have a distributor who is interested, we just need to get round to sending him a distributor retail pack. So much to do, so little time...
We have a few smaller products that will be up on the website pretty much straight after the Barricade Upgrade, anyone who's seen us at the shows we attended will have seen some of them
The road surface piece for a straight section is 225mm long and 125mm wide, so plenty big enough for any tank shy of a Baneblade! The on release there will be low level (20mm off the ground, coincendentally exactly as high as the PUPs and walkways ) straight sections, 90 degree corners, on / off ramps and t junction parts that lets you connect a straight section to the long side of any another straight section. There will also be a high - level upgrade that lets you raise any road piece up to, umm, very high simply by replacing the low level feet There won't be a high level ramp as yet, because it will be pretty whopping when it is made, but it will be coming!
There will be eventually, just not released at the same time as the low level set. We need to think about how to keep it in a manageable size without making the angle too steep, it may be a case of doing a u-shaped piece that goes back on itself, but it will come!
Great updates! I'm actually in no rush for the modular facilities because I won't be building a table any time soon but I'm looking forward to seeing them finished.
I really need to get round to placing a base order with you. I'll try and do it soon!

The only thing holding me back is the release of the roads and the Noodle Bar - both of which seem imminent!
Your battlesnap barricades are spectacular, I can't wait to get my hands on some! Is buying from the U.S. alot more expensive? Also, I noticed a thread about a discount code somewhere, any chance of that still being active?
Just a note to say we will have a trade stand at Battlegroup South's wargames show at Bovington tank museum this weekend, this is a great show and also a chance to pick up any of our terrain ranges and save a bit of postage, as well as hurl abuse / compliments at us!
But more importantly, we will have a limited number of pre-release Food Booth 9000s (also known as the noodlebar!) available to buy, with a chance to get extra show-exclusive detail parts to turn your Happy Noodle into 2 extra takeaway chains!
That's awesome news! Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make it to Bovvie this year, do you know when the noodlebar is likely to go on general release?
Pacific wrote:That's awesome news! Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make it to Bovvie this year, do you know when the noodlebar is likely to go on general release?
By the end of the month. The only thing left to do is the box labels and they're done, which is an evening's work, we just won't have any time to actually make any more for the next few weeks! Shame you'll be missing the show :(
Zwan1One wrote:About freaking time! Awesome work guys!
You gonna come see us this weekend then? We have business to discuss...
As well as the FoodBooth 9000 we'll be selling our selection of warpgates, which have only been for sale at 2 shows so far, as well as the improved Quick Deploy Barrier. We may even have a set of roads available...
Elevated roads will be along as soon as we've finished a couple of distributor orders. We could release them now, but there's no point as we won't be able to make them for about a month! we'll get them up for pre-order as soon as possible along with the noodlebar, everything's just kind of happened at once
The games of Infinity at Bovington were awesome, there are lots of pictures here, so go check 'em out!
After an achingly long delay, we've finally made the FoodBooth 9000 available for purchase! Available in a choice of 4 franchises; Happy Noodle, Dolphin Shack, The Donut Hole and Southern Fried Watersnake, to let you feed your citizens their favourite brand of recycled protein!
We also have our range of Warpgates up for sale, available in a range of styles to match your army. Get 2 and have troops teleporting from one end of the battlefield to the other to really mix things up a bit
If you've got aliens warping around the battlefield behind you, you're gonna need some Defences! Our modular Dragon's Teeth come as a pack of 2 different sizes, and can be joined together as single pieces or longer lengths for proper defensive lines, while the Quick Deploy Barricade can be folded down flat for transport and activated at the first sign of trouble.
And finally, the elevated roads are available!
Just kidding Alpharius they will be out very soon though
We'll be attending this year's Colours show at Newbury Racecourse with our tradestand if anyone wants to come and say hi, we'll have all our terrain at 10% off RRP and it'll be the perfect chance to save on some postage. Hope to see some of you there!
Nice kits, ime almost sold. I just need a road way or something but i want it without the confines of the ground, like up in the air or something, even just a little.

These will be perfect for use in my Warpath games, since the Corporation faction are a dystopian future government as well, loosely based on what would happen if lawyers ruled the galaxy.
Terrain budget is a little low at the moment, but this stuff is at the top of my want list since it is absolutely the best .mdf stuff currently on the market.
The Warp Gates are really cool. Surprised you didn't do a not-Stargate as well, that would have been awesome, and would have tied in with the slight nods to pop culture throughout the range (Jurassic Park, Blade Runner, etc.).

While we've been pretty quiet on the interwebz for a while, we have actually been doing something with the time! Here's some shots of our next product (after the elevated roads of course ), the MULE (Modular Unit - Living Environment). This represents the second wave of colonization after the wave of PUPs has been setup, using the same idea of modularity but with a slightly more streamlined pleasing to the eye look for the colonists' families.
One of the things we realised about multi-storey buildings is no matter how easy they are to un-stack, most of the time you probably won't bother using the different floors due to the hassle of taking them apart without sending models flying, so to combat this problem as well as stacking, the pod units can slide out from each level without disrupting the stack, letting you move a mini around inside then sliding it back into place. Also, the central units totally support the MULE, so you can have suspended units without needing a separate L-shaped building . We reckon it'll make this the most useable multi-level building out there.
This shows the basic pod and the central support units, now the base models are done (minus the detailing) we'll have at least a shop and bar variant ready for release, as well as a walkway for joining central units together to make really big complexes. The pods have doors both ends for models to enter via the pods or the central units. Also, the fences around the MULE are a placeholder design and will be made prettier
I can think of so many uses for these! The possibilities are endless by the looks of them, how long before I can buy some?!
Great work guys, your creative skills and the way you make everything so modular really sets you apart from the other companies out there in your line of work. I would list some but can't think of any atm, guess that is a good sign!
They look quite nice unpainted, the contrast between the dark lasered edges and the light wood makes them look kinda sci-fi by default.
I think you're on to a best-seller here, the mechano factor of being able to stack and build an entire massive block in multiple configurations is the appeal here.. I like how you've gone with a system of central nodes and rectangular shaped links in between them.
There's lots of cool stuff that could be done with this... thinner corridors/ walkways that link one central node to another, a massive central hexagon node building that 6 MULEs or walkways etc can come off of would be great as a centrepiece or for making more dynamic battlefields with hexagon layouts for the central buildings.
A small triangular central node with 3 doors coming out if it could also work well for providing that "odd angle" approach.
Kinda like those hexagon kits from robogear... they were great in theory, but had way too many tiny parts to practically re-arrange all the time, so this system of being easily able to swao out nodes and links in a gargantuan urban complex is definitely the way to go.
If it can build a whole Necromunda/ Infinity board in the space of 5-10 minutes just by slotting things together, then its on to a winner.
Thanks for the comments guys, this has been a pretty long development through 3 previous ideas that got dropped after they got too complex or didn't allow for enough modularity, so it's good to finally have something to show for all the head scratching!
The plan is for them to be available some time next month, though finishing the model is only half the job :(
Not sure about the webstore problem, we use a site builder so it could just be under a heavy load right now.
Can the central core be stacked so it twists 45 degrees between each level? I thought it might be able to but on looking at the pegs on the roof of the core it doesn't look like it can.
Also, will there be an internal corner so that the walkway can be continued around passed the core window between MULE's?
And some kind of "main entrance" MULE might be cool for the ground level.
If we choose to them have them significantly above ground level, I hope that you're working on some sort of transportation path or option that will help us access them that high up...

No, although scarletsquig's suggestion of different shaped cores is something I think we'll have to look into, as the cores only really consist of 2 parts which could be arrayed in almost any number of sides.
There is an internal corner, you can just see it on one of the overhead shots where the walkway is slightly longer on one side of the MULE than the other
The main entrance is the next part to make, it's already been accounted for

The cores are basically lift shafts that let you travel up the levels, once there you can go straight into a pod then out onto the walkway, or straight out onto the walkway from the core if you don't have a pod on each connector. There will also be a fire-escape staircase to go on the outside between walkway levels.

I think that would be something colonies would want to turn the standard modules into a wide range of buildings. Even something that is essentially a set of stairs so units can be stacked up would be really useful.

Cool, I must have missed it

Or a catapult.
Sounds good.
I was thinking of maybe some elevated roads though...
Well we just did a quick render (which brought Ed's PC grinding to a halt ) and amazingly, in spite of absolutely no forethought a 3 level stack of MULEs does in fact put the top pod walkway at the same level as the elevated roads. Incredible!
I have to join the crowd - I like those a LOT. I'm envisioning them added to my city board... sectioned off by security, trashy and hab-looking. Make a great addition to a dystopic imperial city.
Keep it up! And let us know when they're available!
EDIT: Yeah, I really hate to be negative, but I also have to agree about your site. It's a bit rough. At this point, I honestly wouldn't buy anything from it even liking the product. :( I'd really hate to see a good terrain maker with good ideas be wasted due to poor website implementation.
They look relay nice and i would love to get the two story variant with the gantry/fence and make it into the L shape and make some supports for the second floor.. It would fit nicley into the Infinity table im currently making and my own buildings.
Im hoping it doesn't get to expensive since the MAS 3story building cost about 21£ and each floor on that one is L8", W4", H2,4", two of those kits seams to be the same amount so im hoping it doesent go above 50£ or il just get the MAS stuff instead.

I can't really comment on website issues as we use freewebstore.org and don't have anything to do with bandwidth or server space or any of that malarkey, we just fill in the blanks. If anyone having issues could let us know exactly what the problem is we can at least approach them with the issue and see what they have to say. We don't have any problems ourselves when we look at the site, but we have 10 and 30 meg internet speeds which could be offsetting any problems.

The whole setup in the pictures is about 500mm long end to end (about 20") when set up with the pods on opposite sides of the core piece, a pod without walkways is L6.5" x W4" x H2.5", and with walkway it's L8" x W8" so there's not a lot in it. We can't really give a price until all the detail is added and the files are set up properly for production but if you're judging value through size divided by price the MAS stuff will probably look cheaper. What our kit will offer is more flexibility in how you set it up and integrated walkways without buying separate kits, and hopefully a design you'll like.
The mule looks really good. I like the way your are developing your line as the ongoing stages of colonisation. I don't know of any other terrain company that does that. Mostly I like that they aren't shoe boxes!
As a suggestion you need to design some kind of support structure so that you can attach the pups onto the side of the elevated roads. Create a raised city.
Hot damn you guys do some amazing work! if it weren't so heavy I'd buy quite a bit but the postage to Australia is pretty steep, so i'll just have to sate my terrain hunger with visual stimuli! :-) you have such excellent vision and execution with these products, obviously aimed for more 'Infinity' style games but still accessible for other sci fi games, you know, i might suck it up and re mortgage the home if you ever do a walkway and wall set that could be based on an abandoned space hulk? .... for instance ;-)
I will now be watching VERY closely! :-) ....... every day until something pops up! do you think it may be something that could possibly be released this year? or the first half the new year?
Work proceeds apace on the other elements of the MULE; we now have finished construction models for the shop unit, stackable elevator / conservatory pod and walkway compatibility part to let you connect core stacks with the same walkways that the PUPs use. See, it's almost like we think of these things
In the grand scheme of turning a crazy idea into a released boxed product, we're probably a little under 50% of the way there with the MULE. Next step is the fun bit, the detail, followed by painting a glamour set for photography, followed by lots of boring stuff.
Here's one piece of news - after months of frustration over not having enough time to do all the cool stuff we want to do, I'm finally packing in my day job to have more time to spend on Warmill. This will mean much faster turnaround times on orders (getting to the post office during the week has been an issue for some time now) and especially new products, including, yes, the roads.
We've had so many ideas for cool stuff we want to do but with such limited time we hit the point where it's all been spent treading water, now we should be able to get some of the cool ideas we've had for a long time into production (such as Ed's lovely sexy dreadball board ).
Ooooh, the roads will be nice! does that mean that the modular corridors that could perhaps be used with floors and walls to play games based in a space ship of a large designation will be sooner rather than later? :-) that's the one thing i am happy to pay through the nose for!
Really exciting news dude! Now your dream of spending all day watch the laser cutter cut shapes and pressing the repeat button regularly are coming true!
I really hope this goes well. Who needs prosthetic limbs anyway?
Yeah it's the dream, I'll be just like fat homer from the episode where he works from home, with a nodding bird to press the repeat button so I just have to remove the sheets
Started this last night as my wind down before bed time, finished it tonight (minus engraved detail). Everyone likes shipping crates so why the hell not?
That is just awesome... soon we will be able to construct Hadley's Hope in it's entirety... The only shame is that an Atmosphere Processor would be too damn big to do lol...
Yep we'll be doing combo kits to let people put large complexes together easily, it also means we can build a discount in to larger sets
As to the atmosphere processor, we did a prototype of a big necron style pyramid ages ago that we sent to tabletop insider for a battle report, thinking about it is does bear some resemblance to said atmosphere processor...

The mini in these photos is a Warpath Corporation Marine very kindly provided by and used with permission from the awesome guys at Mantic Games. Thanks guys!
Ooh I see now, thought you had moved on from acrylic bases to anti-grav ones!
The crates sure do look fun to stack up, makes me want to build a mini version this person's house I saw on discovery channel, whole thing was made of storage crates!
Bit of a departure form the terrain for a moment, we're indulging our passion for glossy products with the WarMill DreadBoard. Designed for use with Mantic Games' new sports game DreadBall (we're sure you've all heard of it ) this is a strictly limited high-quality board featuring an optional built-in remote-controlled colour changing LED system. Change the colour of the pitch to match the team whose turn it is, celebrate slams or scores with a flashing light display, build tension as the game reaches it's climax with a pulsating light gradually getting faster and faster...
These will be available in very limited numbers and built with loving care by our good selves, and frankly we reckon you' be happy to hang it on your wall it looks so sexy . We'll be releasing it mid-November 2012, contact us at admin@warmill.co.uk for enquiries.
Boo, don't make it limited . And what about the future (larger) Dreadball Ultimate pitch?
I think you should make a general release one. Seriously. $200 is not too much to ask for something like that, and I'd do it, but no way I would now without the game being out!!! And wondering if DBall Ultimate would make it obsolete.
Dysartes wrote:Are the numbers on the score track the right way round? They look like the characters are on backwards.
Good eye, the score track is in fact backwards on the prototype. The culprit shall remain nameless

General release!
It's way too labour intensive to be a general release, it's really going to be a special collector's item. We may do very short runs (5 - 10 boards max) here and there but don't expect to see them coming up very often. We'll accomodate the Dreadball developments as they happen. As it is, this run will be launched to coincide with Dreadball's release. 3 of them will be going to special customers
We're going to be building a showcase example this weekend to show off what the finished product will look like.
Would you consider selling just the acrylic top? I'd like to build my own LED lighting under it (with separate channels for separate 'chambers' underneath things like scoring hexes, sin bin etc.) and I figure just cutting that acrylic sheet should be doable outside a superduperspeshul limited release?
(take your time though, my bank account is considering waging open war on me atm )
Druidic wrote: Hmm, isn't the board flipped as well? The arrows should be from the reserves box, and I think the ref marker is off... could very wrong however.
Very cool looking board however... very damn shinny!
Yeah as mentioned above this is the prototype shown here and there were a couple of things that have since been fixed
So would I be right in thinking there's some people out there who'd really like some SPAAAAAAAACE corridors? Just you wait a little longer...
Roads are photographed so the low level set will definitely be up on the website Monday for pre-order Incredible, no? The super-elevated set will be a little longer as we have to paint up the access ramp which is huge
I would not object to some sort of corridors, possibly located in some sort of Star Behemoth inhabited by Chromozone Thieves and Galactic Jarhead Eliminators.
We're only 1 order away from 200 orders since setting up our webstore, the next order gets a nice freebie cos we're nice like that!
In other news, we're just preparing the press release for the low-level ELMOR system (elevated roads to the uninitiated ) and they'll finally be released for pre-order whoop! There's going to be a 2 week pre-order period (mostly to give us time to go to Crisis this weekend!) The high level ones will be released sometime before November once we've painted the high-level access ramp and got lots of pictures.
The SIR crate will also be released this weekend at Crisis, priced at £17 for 2 or £40 for 5. Those who've seen our thread in the Infinity subforum will know they have a detail panel designed to take a 14-up sticky label to let you make your own branding and stick them straight to the model, there's just a minor bit of tweaking to do to them and they're good to go
We hope to see some of you guys at Crisis, make sure to ask Ed why it took so long for the roads to be released
Harry and Ed
Automatically Appended Next Post: And we have a winner! 200 orders broken woooo!
Really liking how someone has finally made a road system with side pieces.
It makes them so much more useful as gaming pieces rather than plain flat roads since models can take cover behind them. Plus, 2d terrain is never any fun, vinyl road tiles or strips always tend to look a bit crappy.
Having the road surface itself raised is great too, since models will be able to either stay completely out of sight behind the road, or in cover when on the road.
Plus, the width of them creates some great open spaces for urban boards.
Looking at them has me thinking.. modular trench system is definitely on your radar right?
Pretty sure you could make a much better set than the new GW one just by adapting your current battlesnap stuff to be 2-sided, and adding a few junction pieces to it.
WarMill wrote: Hah funny you should say that, I drew this high quality concept art way back in June 2011
Hmm, might try that with the remaining fortress bits that I haven't used yet! I have a funny feeling I just threw out a huge section of pink styrene that would have been perfect though...
Hey Warmill, have you guys considered doing gameboards or dungeon tilesets? I know it is not as complicated as 3d terrain, but I feel like there would be a market for paintable dungeon tile boards or space hulk boards which had patterns on them and possibly levels like short walls or something... but were generally 'flat' for transport and storage.
Like something with 3 levels of cut-out sandwiched together with fancy cut patterns to look like floors and terrain.
Not sure the market, but I would think there would be a middle ground between 2D printed dungeons/hulk hallways and full 3D casted tiles...
Well Antwerp was lots of fun, we drank belgian beer, chatted to lots of European gamers and even managed to sell a few things! Woop!
And now I'm ill! Boo! I blame Ed personally.
Now that show's out the way it's time to get the shipping crates all painted up nicely to get the boxart ready for Warfare at Reading this weekend, we won't have a stand ourselves but at least one of us will be mooching around the Simple Miniatures demo board on the Saturday so if anyone wants to order anything for collection on the day let us know, the usual 10% off show discount applies!
Shipping crates are all done and dusted, and they look rather sexy if I do say so myself!
Having played a few games of Infinity with them now, I an confirm they work rather well, especially when it comes to using the built in ladder and a token to mark models not quite all the way up the ladder, poking their heads over the top to get off a few shots without losing cover bwah hah hah!
There will be a few packs available at Warfare in Reading this weekend through the lovely chaps at Simple Miniature Games, and anyone who wants to see them in action can pay a little visit to their Infinity demo table to see how cool they are. Available in a pack of 2 or a pack of 5, the 5-packs come with a sheet of Street Wars-related labels to stick on the crates, but anyone with a bit of computer knowhow can whip up their own and print them on standard 14-up sticky label sheets!
Loving the colours on these. Nice to see them not just painted as rusty. On discovery channel there is a program about people prepping for the end of the world. On guy built a castle from shipping crates. Really impressive. Two shipping crates high so no one can easily scale the wall. I'll try to find a image and post it here.
We treated ourselves to a shiny new toy for Christmas, a super sexy airbrush! After fudging our way through painting terrain with a series of old / abused / cheap airbrushes we splashed out on a decent one to paint up our next batch of releases ready for release in the new year. We have a couple of products that are just waiting for boxart, including the elevated version of the ELMOR system which is finally done and dusted, and a selection of brand new things that have been kept firmly under wraps up until now so keep watching this thread for pre-release photos and information.
A big thanks to everyone who's supported us during over the year, whether it's through buying our products or just bullying us to stop faffing around and actually release stuff Here's to 2013 and our continued mission to take over the world!
Woah. Those photos give away some of the stuff you plan to release. Lots of cool looking things coming up definitely! I think I can see a new noodle bar?
Here's a sneaky peek of one new project for 2013, our first (but definitely not last!) foray into 28mm figures. This guy is part of our ongoing campaign to build a universe that has been hinted at through the ongoing fluff for our terrain. We tried to get a picture of him but it turns out he's shy!
Do you guys still sell the bases? I checked the store a while back and noticed that almost all of them had been taken down. I hope you do because I have a couple and they are fantastic!
Ah hah good job reminding me we really need to sort out the bases on the website! They are on there under jewel bases, I was going to re-do the categories and got as far as deleting the old categories but not as far as doing new ones, guess that's one for the january job list
O.K I just kicked my partner out of the house so you guys can move in and marry me! that preview looks even better than I had hoped!!!! I'm hoping this year will see me purchase enough to play a game themed in the bowels of an abandoned space faring vessel!
.... Oh,...... and I should never have doubted you
Our friend who's working on the figures for us painted this piece up, we're thinking a Doom-esque horror ship setup with the bright well lit entry for the investigating troops leading into gradually darker and more messed up sections
That looks so so so good Warmill! can you give me any advice as to priming, sealing or texturizing the pieces? I like the way yours look and i'd like to replicate it when I purchase them down the track? are they just airbrushed over the original surface? and how many differing sections are you hoping to offer?

We usually just spray directly on to the MDF, the blue set was done straight on without any sealing, and I'd assume the dark set was as well, although as our friend did that one I'd have to check with him. It was just a case of building up thin coats with an airbrush, so the blue piece was sprayed blue first then the panels were sprayed white from the centre outwards to make them look slightly glowy. The lighting effects on are done by spraying the darkest yellow first then spraying a thin white over it with the heaviest coat at the centre of the light then fading out. There's no real trick to it, just building up thin layers
The black on the dark one was done with some fancy auto-air paints, because there's a metallic undercoat with a thin black sprayed on top that looks flat in the flesh but reflects the light as you turn it towards the light or use flash photography, as the photo looks much more silver than the real piece does.
Our friend who designed the corridors (we can only claim credit for doing all the boring work sadly ) has provided us with small, medium and large straight pieces, a dead end, a corner, a t junction, a 4-way crossroads, and large rooms ranging from 1 to 4 exits (although you can use corridor bits to build up much larger rooms as well), as well as bulkhead door that can be fitted pretty much anywhere. All in all it's a pretty genius design and we're gluing bits together as quick as we can to build a 4'x4' board for some Infinity scenarios
Here's a quick pic of some of the other components for the corridors, it's been all hands on deck building loads of them for our display board. The parts shown here are the t-junctions and crossroads, but even with just those 2 parts you can see how bigger setups can be built. Ed currently has a pile of corners and 1x2 and 2x2 straight bits he's spraying up, and I've just roped my girlfriend into building a load of corridor dead ends and bulkhead doors with me which we will get pics of when we reconvene.
i couldn't resist putting a few Mantic corporation troops in there
Edit: Forgot to say that it is looking pretty damn awesome
May eventually have to get a set of this rather than some Hirst Art moulds as these actually look pretty much exactly how I would want space corridors to look - have you been stealing my brain pictures again?
I think some thin service corridors, half width minor corridors, and even some "air vents" (very small corridors which could clip onto the tops of the walls?) would really set this design off and allow you to do a hell of a lot with it.
Some kind of slot on front piece so you could join these corridors onto others along an existing wall would also really make this much more modular. I will do a little sketch as even I don't understand what I mean with this
The total size of the bits shown there is just over 500mm square, so a little over 1.5' each side.

That air vent idea is pretty nifty, Ed's already been working on big air vents that fit in the groove like your second picture to allow minis to cross through the walls into adjacent corridors. I think you've been stealing OUR brain pictures!
We'll get some pictures of a more interesting setup once we get together, we just need to cut a bunch of long straight sections and we have a selection of all the corridor parts ready to paint, minus the rooms will be along slightly later.
Guys, talk about excited! I was a little disheartened that my FleshEaters army was nearly finished to company strength and was looking to start another army for this year, but now i'll save my coins and work out how much to buy for a good sized table! I know being 'Down Under' it's going to cost me an arm and a leg to get it but I really must have these coridoors! it's as some have mentioned ' just like you've been stealing our brain pictures'
Those corridors are looking better and better! They remind me of the FW ones but these are more modular. Any rough estimate of when we can be seeing them for sale?
Here be more images for you to feast your eyes on! Just happens that we need more components, more dead ends, more corners, more everything! Unfortuantly I dont get any longer to paint the things! :(
Sexy.
Any plans for a flat component to replace the column thing (in the middle of the 2x2 room in your last pic for instance) to make large open spaces?
Also, how big a footprint does the layout in that last pic cover? My Jack Russel Head to Foot conversion calculator is at home.
OMG the corridors are brilliant... I may have to crack and make a quite sizeable warmill purchase sooner than later now... You guys are really, genuinely doing brilliant, innovative work with the technology, I really respect the thought and creativity you put into your designs.
In short, big fan, and seem to be getting bigger every year!
Oh my god! yes!!!! that is amazing! I love the design feature of the flared side walls to make it easier for viewing and playing on/in! this is going to be a huge seller!
!! The airbrush is our favored weapon, yet that is dubious as to getting the job done!
Attached is an image of the stack-able crates Harry cut last night, perfect for providing cover in those long, empty, lonely, dark, smelly, cold space corridors!
You... just made an industrial tower out of space corridors, didn't you?
BWAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHA!
Here's a look at the artwork for one of the variant acrylic detail parts for the ORB (Organic Receptacle Booth) 2.0, a kerbside vending-machine style booth that the lucky user can climb inside for all sorts of wonderful reasons. Soon to be released (ie as soon as we get them painted), the ORB features a sliding tray and a removable WUHU bin (Waste Unit - Heavy Use) to use as scatter terrain, and will be available in 3 variants; Body Swop Chop Shop for when you want to make a splash at a party with an extra head or exploding eyeballs, Happy Holidays for when you Totally can't Recall when you last had a holiday, and Clever Booth for when you need to learn combat skills in a hurry.
If those stackable crates came with OHP/acrylic pannels they would make pretty cool cryo/plasma/energy crates. A kind of frosted colour, fading towards the edges in either blue or orange would look cool.
And the new corridors are looking impressive. I'm on my phone, but are there any narrow corridors? I think the variation would make it a lot more visually and gamingly interesting.
Also, do the bulk head doors slide up to allow them to be open without just removing the door?

Ed's been modelling up resin and mdf niknaks to fit inside the frames so you can have a variety of filled and empty crates to partially or fully block corridors. We'll show them off once we've got some painted.
There aren't narrow corridors yet, we do have 4x4 enclosed rooms with a variety of entrance layouts to show yet which we'll be releasing as a second wave to add a bit of variety.
And yes the doors slide up out of the bulkhead frames
Here's another pic of the WIP of our first miniature, the mini is about 90% finished here but we should be getting our hands on the greens (though they're actually grey ) of 3 completed minis this weekend, including this guy, so keep an eye out for more pics!
We've called a temporary halt to that for 2 reasons:
1) I broke my CNC
2) It was my first CAD project after a 2 year break and to be honest I'd rather remodel it than persevere with the version it had got to because frankly we can do better now! The proportions of the rotors were a bit off so a bit of a remodel is needed.
Also, we have some doodles of a dropship to go with our miniatures so we may just do a complete kit instead
RE the new figure - I think the helmet is a little bit too blocky. It is hard to tell fom the angle the picture is taken at, but the pose doesn't quite seem right; the left leg should be slightly more bent and the waist twisted (think someone shoulder charging). I would also hope that the shield is going to be held in a better way as a shield that size can't really be held just in the fist like that
Having said that, it looks interesting and I would like to see more.
I thnk there are two interesting sets of figures that could go with your space corridors: Some near-ish future navy/space suited figures (think advanced modern pressure/flight suits - almost a retro look for space figures these days ), and more Infinity type mid-distance future space suited figures.
I'd also be interested in seeing doodles of aircraft - and I think it needs a hanger bay and a launch dock to go with your space corridors - perhaps also a parts and engineering store too
Some other specific rooms I think would be cool would be bunk rooms, C&C room, engineering room and general store rooms (most of those can probably be done with just some furniture?).
Some dry fitting of the corridors before i start messing about with them!
Obv. the models are here for scale purposes only - and what a great job they do! Turns out the corridors are massive and very accessible meaning squads of dudes can happily run a muck! Even walkers and yes, tanks can fit in 'em!
Looking good as is dude! I like the slightly corroded look you got going on! I mean i'm guessing that space hulk like ship menials will be more interested in keeping a ship running than how clean it is in case someone makes a house call?
the final look is pretty awesome - good for a derilict, or a much older ship that is being used on a really unimportant line for shuttling goods and services far from the glory of its hayday
A painting guide for that look would be much appreciated
Also, how did that grav tank turn around the corner?
Corridors look great. Also, I just realised that if you had got these models done ages ago I wouldn't have to go through so much work for my Necromunda blog.
Here's a render to show the options for self-contained rooms for the MODCON set, we're currently planning to release these as a second wave once we've got the corridors out (currently on track for February 1st!), the detailed files to make these are ready they just need setting up as production sheets (which takes a surprisingly long time!). Once we have the corridors painted we'll get a set cut and painted as well.
We also now have something that was suggested earlier, a small platform piece that can replace the small pillar on a corner, t-junction or 4-way piece to allow you to build large open spaces as large as you like. these will be available at launch.
The externor entrance (or even an airlock) would be great - it would allow you to combine an exterior and interior.
One thing I was thinking was for ship to ship actions, or a ship that had landed - some exterior walls would be nice for this but not essential (I am sure they can be replicated with just some string to mark the outline )
I still think some kind of hanger and dedicated command centre would be excellent rooms to have.
I'm wondering if I could sub in my own floor pieces to keep costs down, since really the walls and supports are the kicker, floors can just be floor tiles
As awesome as these are, how much actual area are we talking for each price point?
Also, what will your shipping over the pond look like?
Have you thought of find a partner to laser the pieces in the states for you?
These look awesome, and love the piece to make the bigger rooms. These will make a great space hulk battlefield, but unsure about the feasibility of ordering from the US.
All comments noted and taken into account, so please keep them coming!
We hope to get these kits up by the weekend, once I have enough painted to take pretty pictures of each boxes contents! (I have my work cut out for me!)
We did toy with the idea of external wall pieces that butt up to them, and also a lobby / security / entrance gate type thing, but as always, these things take time and will no doubt be something we add to the range at a later date.
Specific contents for rooms to make them into feature spaces are something we're working on, but again, there is only Harry working on this full time and he is already flat out!
I'm trying to suggest to Harry that a free worldwide shipping period is a must so we can make an impact with these sets! He keeps just saying yeah that's a good idea but I can read him a mile away, and he looks like he wants to tell me to shove off, but hasn't yet!
I'm pretty sure Harry has finished box contents, but not sure how much of a secret they are at the moment - may have to wait until the pre release go live....

Ed! this is the only thing that has kept me from buying your products in the past, as the weight of them and post to Australia makes them double in costs! I was planning to save enough to buy rooms and corridors to cover at least a 4x4 table (I think that would be large enough?) but if down the road you do have a free ship option I'd be more than happy to buy bulk and get them sooner! I really can't express how great these are looking and I have already planned my paint etc to get these looking grim darky! are you thinking of producing them as a kit bundle that includes enough rooms, corridors, doors to re arrange and play games in a unmanned floating space ship or do we need to work that out ourselves?

Dammit, don't listen to my suggestions, how am I supposed to not buy these now?
They;re sculpted in Magic Sculpt by a mate of our who has the biggest hands you'll ever see - no one knows how he can even hold a sculpting tool let alone use one!!
We have a couple of models now - primarily so we can show scale of our awesome and incredible MDF toys, but I know Harry is very keen to get a range out!
Automatically Appended Next Post: I plopped some images in our other thread:
Woo the image editing is under way! Mantic were super duper awesome and let us use their Corporation troopers for scale shots so we had much fun setting up the little guys in action poses
feth that's looking better and better. Maybe a little too big though. But I'd love to use one as the centerpeice for a 6x4 table. Add in a couple of Sarissa Systems warhouses and scatter terrain, and you've got a great little self contained town.
I just checked out the pre-order page for the corridors and they are looking nice.
It's going to come down to the wire for me to go with these or pledge to the bug hunt corridors. I like the walls better on the Warmill stuff, but the bug hunt bundles have the edge on price.
Well Zwan kinda pipped us to the post on the announcement there!
As you can see, the corridor sets are up for pre-order now, we're offering FREE worldwide shipping on all Escape from Sector 9 bundles which are a great deal in themselves. These sets are, as a rough guide, enough to cover a 3x3, a 4x4, and a 6x4' gaming table, and come with modular parts to build large open spaces from combinations of junctions for objective rooms.
@Alpharius, the roads are coming, promise! Ed's hand is stuck in a permanent air-brushing claw already and he still has a load of corridors to paint, as soon as he's recovered the elevated roads will be getting painted and put up on there
@Loki, some prototypes will be cut soon so you can get a better idea of size. Hope you like them!
Here's a pic of one of the standalone room layouts which are going to be painted up to go on the site very soon.
Will the big housing complex have removable roofs/levels for interior combat? Because if it takes up that much space, indoor combat would be a nice way to get some of the gaming space back.
-Loki- wrote: Will the big housing complex have removable roofs/levels for interior combat? Because if it takes up that much space, indoor combat would be a nice way to get some of the gaming space back.
Even though Ed missed the question. I think the early design samples(that they cut out) had removable roofs and I think the rooms can be individually removed as well. The images are somewhere in their blog in the P&M forum.
Wow all of this is so cool (and great job with the studio shots)! Especially looking forward to the buildings, will be perfect for a kind of science-lab thing I'm planning for a Paradiso board
The crates are MDF, they're painted with an airbrush, and I was playing around with some different techniques - will still require a final bit of touching up but generally speaking almost there!
Can you please release some transparent neon green bases in tactical display design?
Tau are coming soon (around April), and GW is chasing customers away to Infinity and Sedition Wars.
I am just digging up my old Tau stuff and not finding the bases I want.
YAmagata wrote:How did the "Call to Arms" go for you guys? Had a good show?
Still waiting for the elevated roads (the skylevel pillars to be exact) to put my order together. Cant wait to see them in the shop
Call to Arms was good, a nice relaxed start to the season apart form me forgetting a box that had most of the painted terrain in it! One day I'll manage to bring everything to a show I'm working on the roads now, a slight redesign meant rearranging some production frames.
Kroothawk wrote:Can you please release some transparent neon green bases in tactical display design?

I was thinking of doing something along those lines for my own Combined Army Infinity force...
Now the MOD.CO.N pre-orders are out the way we can get back to finishing off old products and starting new ones
Now the corridors are temporarily out the way (until we get back on the rooms and other bits!) we've had some time to get other projects a bit further along. Anyone waiting for the sky-level elevated roads will be happy to know they're the next to be painted ready for release. We've tweaked the access ramp slightly which meant changing the layout of the production frames, but they're all set up and good to go! Ed's also modelled up a nice accessories set to make those roads look even more road-y, which will be sold as a pack including one large sign, 2 small signs, 2 large hanging billboards, and a fire escape ladder to get back down to ground level.
I've been revisiting the modular building set with an eye to releasing it either at or after Salute. Some parts have been modified to make building easier and make the finished construction stronger, and I have a list of extra parts to model up, including a heli-pad and lobby, but so far there is the core unit with removable lift, a hab module, connecting tunnels and an external lift. The prototypes have worked out well and just need some slight refinement before they're ready for detailing.
Nice stuff! Glad to see that the roads are still coming, the signs look great on them as well (though the small side ones look like they don't fit that well?). And the modular building is perfect, looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, the Star Wars clone facilities perhaps?
Very excited for all this! Also looking forward to some rooms for the corridors.
Commander Cain wrote: Nice stuff! Glad to see that the roads are still coming, the signs look great on them as well (though the small side ones look like they don't fit that well?).
They came loose because we'd just been waving that road section around in the air trying to get some decent pictures, the workshop isn't the best environment for photography

Well in that case you are most forgiven! I understand the pains of trying to get a good picture, I am notorious for strapping lights to myself to create a crude version of a lightbox in my own little room.
WarMill wrote: Here's an example of the kind of awesome photography we were coming up with!
Omg! the realism is superb! it actually looks like nearly every other crappy shot I've taken to get the few small good ones in my own thread! it aint easy sometimes eh!
Love the road sign piece - with a little bit of modification it would make an excellent promenade by moving the left and right signs "inside" the piece. I'm very much reminded of a docking ramp to a ship...
I want to create some megways for my Mega City One terrain. It would be cool to have some Dredd/MC1 references, or if possible, have some custom signage. I'm recreating a major battle at "Dan Tanna Junction" during the Apocalypse War (when East-Meg One invaded Mega City One) and would love to have appropriate signage, etc.

Hah the original design does have the signs on the inside, but they hang down a bit low for any traffic to get under them!
Pacific wrote:Those look absolutely fantastic! Looking forward to seeing the finished article.
Cheers, that will be soon depending on how hard I crack the whip on Ed

Hopefully within a few weeks, before the end of March at any rate. I need to work out packages and production times to get exact prices yet. Packages will probably be the big ramp by itself, a package of the ramp and some straights, and packs of just the sky and mid-level legs parts to allow converting of the standard height sets between games. I grew up with 2000AD so a Mega City One sign set sounds pretty appealing...

Sounds fantastic. How wide are the roads? I have piles of vehicles from Antenociti's Workshop and I'm wondering if two will fit side by side.
How about an off-ramp/connecting lane?
Each lane is 62.5mm wide if I recall. There's already a t-junction piece and a low-to-tabletop ramp in the ELMOR range which is compatible with these parts.
Man we've been away for a while! Yep Ed is furiously painting the big set for photos, while I'm just finishing off the instructions. We're off to trade at a show this weekend so painting will resume next week for a photo shoot at the weekend.
Also, good news for Alpharius, we've done some re-jiggering and we're able to reduce the price of the ELMOR sets from their current price;
ELMOR Outpost from £54.99 to £44.99
ELMOR Colony from £82.99 to £64.99
ELMOR Mega City from £99.99 to £89.99
The elevated packages will be up on the site shortly.
Also, a bunch of other products that have been sat waiting for release (and even been sold at shows!) have been done ready to be photographed as well.
Wow.. You know, I opened this page this morning before going to work, but didn't have time to delve through the thread to find that pic. Then, in the time I was away the new update was posted (I still had the older thread open so didn't check) - coincidences!
I want some of those buildings to make something like the oopFW Anphelion Base, I miss that thing, would have bought it as well had it not cost 900 quid! Now I will have to decide between that or the space corridors, hmm.

I'd completely forgotten about that thing, I just googled it and man, I think there was some subliminal influence there! This set is our next priority now the roads are on the home stretch, there's a few tweaks required on the helipad but by and large it's ready for detailing prior to setting up for production. With Salute rapidly rearing it's head, it's unlikely to be released until after then (especially as we have 4 products still to release) but will be on track for pretty soon after.
It's been slightly remodelled from the original picture from way back, all with the aim of making it a bit less fiddly to build and stronger when it's finished. The elevator has been made less needlessly complicated and the whole thing is just more pleasant to build and play with.
That's some nice paint work on the surgery shack. That airbrush work looks complicated.
The fin on the roof is a really nice detail good way to add cover on the roof without it feeling forced.
