Good day, good sirs and ladies. its been a long time since i posted something new.
All these models are done with paper, card, some toothpicks, some copper wires and nail beads.
so, here you go:

Thanks in advance!
3ds max for basic 3d model, pepakura designer for basic template and autocad for final templates, detailing and instruction creation
Amazing work and paintjob, too! Im really curious about the durability of painted paper/cardstock. I assume you gave those a few layers of varnish, right?

When my son accidentally threw a ball to the shelf with models and knight porphyrion fell on the table (about 1.5m free fall), he looked like this:
Having done a bit of this myself, I now have extra appreciation of the insane levels of skill and dedication on display here, these are simply brilliant!
Oh me oh my this is amazing work - my mind plain boggles at the time/concentration/manual dexterity needed to make up these plans and then turn them into an awesome looking mini.
Very nice work. It's always a pleasure to see well done papercraft.
If you don't mind me asking, what sort of paper are you using? 250 gsm? It looks like there is a much heavier paper too, chipboard? Are you using any plasticard?

180-200 gsm whatman paper, but most of details are underglued with 0.5-1.0 mm cardboard, than covered with cyanoacrylate and slighly polished
And finaly i added rivets and considering model ready to painting
Thanks for the answer. The cyanoacrylic coating explains the sheen I see in the photos. With the rise of the 3d printing. papercrafting is getting even rarer than it already was. It's good to see you keeping it alive.

Papercraft is more like hobby to keep me mentally ok in these hard times. I dont play tabletop, i dont really need these things but, i like this relaxing process.
PaddyMick wrote: Awesome stuff, thanks for posting. How long does it take you, to make these?
eternity
i can really tell exactly, cuz when im getting tired of project - i'm making something other. something like stormsurge takes few months.
this particular build i started at 11.10.2022
Tommygun1918 wrote: How do you prime your paper?
I have not had very good luck when trying to paint over paper.
Spray primer from the can - same as for plastic models.
I asume, after priming surface bended?
This happens with wide flat surfaces and thin paper and waterbased primers. Thats why all such surfaces are reinforced with cardboard from inside.
Amazing body of work! The Macross Valkyrie is especially impressive.
Have you considered uploading your images directly to the gallery rather than as attachments? That would make them more searchable and people could vote on them, put them on the front page etc.

current variant - cardboard core and ethernet cable wrapping, maybe will a better option - we'll see

while building almost every part in underglued with cardboard (0.5-1.0mm), after detail is ready im covering it with cyanoacrylate - it enforses detail and now i can polish it to get the final fine surface. now i can prime it with spray primer and paint as usual model.

Wow, I can only imagine the amount of superglue you go through! Results are impressive though, and I'll be looking to replicate that for some of my more delicate elements in my builds. Thanks for sharing!
I got one of the Forgeworld models that is waiting in my backlog. But I have to say your version looks even more amazing. Lots of details, overall just beautiful.

thank you ill add rivets before painting - tonns of them
Greetings bhaad. Finally I decided to make your model. I wanted to collect Acastus, but I started with Taunar, it seemed to me simpler. I’ve never done anything like this, but I assembled it over the course of 2 months, I even did something at work in my free time, and it took a little over a month to “lazy” paint it. Not without problems, but overall everything works! I want to say that what you are doing is incredibly cool and wish you health, good luck and patience. Thank you and keep doing what you are best at!
You've been keeping up the impressive work, well done across the board. The seraptek is very rad but I also really dig the sci-fi guns you took a diversion with
Looking good mate. Very impressive as usual - the necron walker in particular looks fiddly as all get out! And how cool to see you're inspiring others too. Thanks for sharing!
Shut the front door! If you weren't posting WIP pics, I just would not believe you that these are card and paper! An incredible talent, really well done.
But your cutting matt is absolutely too clean to have ever had a paint bottle even pass by!
Wonderful work.
im changing them often cuz every drip of paint or glue equals to failed cut and i dont want that
my second/third cutting mat which i use for painting or cutting thick cardboard looks way worse
