 Kid Kyoto is correct I am using them for walkways. As how I made them:
The walkways are really simple and the five of them cost me approx £18.
The walkway is made of two L shaped plastic rods (white plastic). Thick black plastic card base glued to the L shapes. Thin plastic card with double tread pattern glued on top for texture.
The hand rails are made from some model railway platform edging , cut to various lengths to make them go further (these were the most expensive item £4.25 for 5 lengths each about 15cm long) and to variate the cover.
The fence like sections are just plastic rods.
