Yeah, they talk about Finecast like it's the greatest thing ever made, but the models look the same! Am I missing something? Don't get me wrong, I hate metal and love resin, but is there really any improvement in quality? |

The only benefit seems to be for little, weak teenage hobbyists who haven't got enough vitamins or sunlight and consequently aren't strong enough to lift the metal cast figures. FACT! |

I would disagree. It seems everyone is giving GW a bashing for changing over to resin (and of course knocking the prices up a bit) BUT.... In my experience, resin gives sharper detail, maybe not more, but defiantly sharper, making nicer looking models when painted up. And don't forget just how much better resin is to tweak/model. As for the price hike, iv only got a rough idea, but if you take a look at GW GDP its not much, they may just want to improve profits. Also being that they are a UK company, and so are suffering from the high rate of inflation we are experiencing over here. |

I'm not knocking them really as you know from other companies who use resin it is a superior material on all counts plus it's not as poisonus as White metal so if your kids chew them they won't get ill. The same fuss was made when they changed from lead to White metal, people will get used to it eventually I did and I'm not too old yet to accept a bit of change. Let's face it any extra detail and a little less weight is surely a good thing. Excuse my previous comment it was meant sarcastically but i guess my tone of voice doesnt really translate very well in text form. ha ha. |
